You guys are missing the point about the dangers. When you fly professionally you look beyond the 'fun' aspect of flying as the dangers associated with low level flying especially over beaches & coastal areas are BIRDS!! -

Low flying along a beach is one of the most dangerous places you could do that stunt! -

You wanna make a bet on that? I've seen plenty of a/c at zero feet along a deserted beach! Rules are like door locks they are only for honest thieves!! -

A All very true. Australia doesn't have the imagination, we have a complex corrupt Govt system, we have a very unstable workforce, powerful unions, very high wages, low population level for our land mass & a high level of bludgers and wealfare recipients & imports who abuse our kindness. We are a minerals wealthy nation run by a few top end greedy corporate thugs with the politicians in their back pockets, we will never amount to anything on the world stage as we have no manufacturing industry worth anything competitive! -

A friend of mine recently bought a new long wing CTLS or whatever they are called with a 100hp Rotax. Set up in LR cruise it can do almost 8 hrs around 1000 mn under fav conditions, nothing out there today or in the forseable future can come anywhere near those numbers using EP. I hope they do but for now expect Otto's design to be around for a loooong time yet! -
Now that would be achallenge!

The disruptions this idiotic curfew causes the Airlines is huge! The gateway to Australia & it's closed wth a sign on the door 11pm every night, closed back at 6am!! We are the laughing stock of the aviation community world wide!

Still don't believe we'll see a viable EP aircraft anytime soon. $30k for a spare battery with a 1000 charge capability for 1.5 hrs per charge, nah not yet! Nothing matches the output of a modern infernal combustion engine for power per pound of fuel. Battery weight, battery cost, very poor endurance risks associated with fast charging Lithium batteries, ability to charge them away from convenient locations as well as the distances that Australia has which aircraft often need to transverse will make EP aircraft for now not practicable, might be alright in the circuit for training and in Europe. Lots of organisations will be hesitant to invest in these at present. Remember when aircraft manufacturers got excited about diesel power planes & Porsche engines? Failed miserably. Still that's just my take on it, a personal opinion, see you back in here in 20 years to see how it's all going -
What a fantastic video....ahh wouldn't it be great to fly in a country where it's encouraged instead of here where CASA's mantra is 'safe skies are empty skies"! Not to sure I'd fly in one of those but that guy is living da dream!

I wonder how many of these idiots would complain if they couldn't land in Sydney cause their flight was delayed taking off all cause of the stupid curfew laws Australia has? Councils have way too much power and the numpties out there are being pandered to all too often!!

I believe it will a long time before a viable electric plane will be sold to the masses out there but it's good to see advancements in this area:plane: -
