  1. hangies will note that this guy was not as out of control as he was trying to makeout to be. may be a crude attempt to get couple of hundred dollors out of funniest home videos.....
  2. thats a great shot U/L, looks like taken from late final, would you care to divulge your secret technique and the make and model of your camera
  3. if you pm me your fax no.(weekdays 8:30am-2:30pm) i might be able to help you
  4. you will have to find another one because I have already got the one you saw...;)
  5. Fisher Mk1 is pretty similar to the original Maxair Drifter from USA, really light and nimble on the controls. Austflight one's are highly beefed up versions for certification and most fly like pigs compared to lighter one's. if you ring Wayne Fisher on 0428 817 426 he will happily answer all your drifter questions
  6. If I have to rate Drifters in a decending order for fun flying that would be 1. Wayne's Sport Drifter (ofcourse I am biased, I own one) 2. Fisher MK1 or Original Maxair Drifter with 503 Rotax 3. Wire braced 582 powered models 4. Certified Wire baraced models 5. and lastly strut braced models I hav'nt included 912 in the list because I hav'nt flown one. if you are looking for engine reliability I suppose they might be the go. Fisher Sport 503 W/B only weighs 155 kg (as opposed to 220kg for certified wire braced even heavier for struters) with a shorter wing span and symetrical airfoil and climbs like a rocket. Not bad for 32-35k new, probably the biggest banger for your buck for fun flying
  7. A New Discovery Besides arsenic, lead, mercury, radon, strontium and plutonium, one more extremely deadly and pervasive element has been discovered to exist. This startling new discovery has been tentatively named Governmentium (Gv) but kept top secret for 50 years. The new element has no protons or electrons, thus having an atomic number of 0. It does, however, have 1 neutron, 150 deputy neutrons, 76 supervisory neutrons, and 7 team leader neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 232. These 232 particles are held together by a force called morons, that are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since it has no electrons, Governmentium is inert. However, it can be detected as it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. According to the discoverers, a minute amount of Governmentium causes one reaction to take over four days to complete when it would normally take less than a second. Governmentium has a normal half-life of approximately three years. It does not decay but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the deputy neutrons, supervisory neutrons, and team leader neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium mass will actually increase over time, since, with each reorganization, some of the morons inevitably become neutrons, forming new isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to speculate that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as the "Critical Morass."
  8. use of wheelbarrows as takeoff assistance devices 22 English http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/vbtube_show.php?do=tube&tubeid=126
  9. sunflight coax-prop looks like the reduction assembly is derived from one engine to the output of 2 counter-rotating props. unnecessary complexity IMO, probably worth it if designed to be driven from two smaller engines for redundancy
  10. mitchell p38 ultralight another design from eighties that looks similar to proposed concept.
  11. use of wheelbarrows as takeoff assistance devices English LINK
  12. twin engine coaxial trike- does anybody knows more about it? twin engine coaxial trike- does anybody knows more about it? YouTube - Microlight history
  13. impressive and innovative trim system for trikes.......will be on every trikers santa wishlist
  14. similar thread similar topic was discussed on the following thread Commercial pilots licence - Recreational Flying p.s. looks like you are well and truly hooked and will suffer the consequences regardless of your choice
  15. looks like you had some fun there len, its really enjoyable flying over the beaches in a trike:thumb_up:
  16. drifter aircraft different variants of drifters are still available from different sources http://www.spectrumaviation.com.au/ http://www.fpna.com/drifter.htm
  17. The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won. The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered in another race and it won again. The local paper read: PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT. The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in any more races. The next day the local paper headline read: BISHOP SCRATCHES THE PASTOR'S ASS. This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey. The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent. The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline: NUN HAS THE BEST ASS IN TOWN . The Bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey so she sold it to a farmer for $10. The next day the headlines read: NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10. This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the high plains where it could run free. The next day the headlines read : NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE. Alas... The Bishop was buried the next day. MORAL OF THE STORY??? Being concerned about public opinion can bring you much grief and misery and even shorten your life. So, be yourself and enjoy life. Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and you'll live longer.
  18. does look good value for 10k Glen. could be a good opportunity for someone to become a dealer for ozz
  19. its going really well all thanx to your excellent instruction len. I did not found much difficulty transitioning to my single seater. coming in like an express train, locking in solid and short sharp movements and other stuff you drummed in training still come in handy especially on rough days ;). I have fixed all the bugs on the machine and it flyies like a dream and iam really happy with it.
  20. single seat trikes if carrying of passengers is not required, then a single seat trike might fit the bill. after finishing my training on heavier 2 seater I transitioned to single seat pursuit 10 trike, the difference was like changing from a manual steering to power steering in a car. its light, nimble and easy on your muscles and whole lot fun to fly. on rotax447 it easily tops 55kts if you pull in a bit and climbs 700+ft/min. similar type of production trike is made by ace aviation http://www.aceaviation.co.uk/magic.shtml with cyclone wing they claim 70 mph with rotax447. you probably can rocketize it further by fitting a hks engine if flying 2 stroke give you the jitters
  21. good one Alan, would still work if you substitute India and Pakistan the other way around or may be better still substitute with ozziland vs kiwistan (change hen eggs to duck eggs to facilitate border crossing)
  22. Sad to hear about your aircraft Ross but was still your lucky day I suppose, any landing you can walk away from is still a good one. Hope you get back in the air soon.
  23. just building on on tony's good work here's couple more: In promulgating your esoteric cogitations or articulating your superficial sentimentalities and amicable, philosophical or psychological observations, beware of platitudinous ponderosity. Let your writings demonstrate a clarified conciseness, a compact comprehensibleness, no coalescent conglomerations of precious garrulity, jejune bafflement and asinine affectations. Eschew all conglomerations of flatulant, bloviated vapidity, jejune babblement and asinine affectations Let your extemporaneous verbal evaporations and expatriations have lucidity, intelligibility and veracious vivacity without radomontade or Thespian bombast. Sedulously avoid all polysyllabic profundity, pompous propensity, psittaceous vacuity, ventriloquial verbosity and vaniloquent vapidity. Shun double-entendres, obnoxious jocosity and pestiferous profanity, observable or apparent. sorry folks i know its the wrong section but could'nt help put a cut and paste job
