  1. So much negativity toward the RAAus, an organization that has allowed us the freedom to fly. Those of you out there who are bagging YOUR organization/magazine should be ashamed of yourselves.
  2. Good idea, I think iPhone has an app like that, it is linked to NAAPS and you can submit a flight plan via iPhone
  3. Thanks Paul, great profile picture, I have finally tamed the cub now, such a good feeling when you can land that thing.
  4. Ah yes I know that aircraft, I may be mistaken but the old Gent who owned it was named George, he was such a nice fella, he did some training down here at Boonah many many years ago, sad to hear he passed.
  5. Hey guys just wondering how the Clifton fly in went, I was stuck at work but the weather was pretty foul so just wondering if anyone made it.
  6. Would do it if I lived out that way!
  7. Yes a bung would be a good idea with a "remove before flight" ribbon attached to it. I fly a Golf, Super Echo and Eaglet and the only problem we have is if the plane is parked unevenly fuel will drain from the high tank into the low tank then out the vent, this is easily fixed by switching one of the fuel cocks off to stop cross feeding....
  8. I think this site is great and log in daily to see what's happening in the world of recreational flying. What I can't understand is why there aren't more photos to browse through? I love sites like airliners.net which are specifically aircraft photos, but here we have a site that is frequented by people who fly recreational aircraft, surely you have photos you can share? It would be a great insight to be able to sit here and look at the types of flying that other members do and what they fly, especially in places Ive never been. I must admit I look forward to the monthly RAAus magazine primarily for the pictures LOL Maybe I am looking at the wrong area of this site or something but as far as pictures go, this site is very much lacking.....
  9. Hey Carl, taking the Eaglet, back Monday, should be a good trip, just hope the weather god's smile on us!
  10. Departing Boonah on Sunday morning for a trip away to Cessnock. Overnight there and come home the next day. Hopefully the skies clear up, wish me luck!!!
  11. Try a Tecnam!!! They are the Rolls Royce of recreational aircraft hahahaha
  12. Most type conversions are a fairly simple affair, but converting from a nosewheel aircraft to a TAILWHEEL aeroplane is like learning to fly all over again BUT OH SO MUCH FUN!!!!
  13. Cherokee Six's are aerobatic now? Wow.
  14. That is great!!!! Added that to my list of websites I check every day!
  15. aaaah a Fisher 912............... my DREAM aeroplane.....
  16. No worries watto. Unfortunately I don't know about leaving an aircraft there and don't have any contact details for anyone there, I imagine it would be ok..... Someone who may know is a member of this site called "Kiwi" if you can find him on here and PM him he may be able to help you. Sorry I am not sure of the length, it is a bit tight though. A J230 should be fine but there isn't much room to float along the runway so you will have to get it down asap. Surface is grass and smooth last time I was there, could be boggy after rain. If you're landing from the north (not sure of RW directions) be aware of a large tree that is just off to the left side of the runway and actually protrudes into the approach path somewhat - you can see this in google earth if you have a look. The ground beyond the hangars at the southern end rises but not a great deal. Apart from not overflying the winery that is about all the information I can give you, sorry I can't help with numbers or names. Happy flying, and hey, why not drop into Boonah while you're in the area.
  17. Yea I had planned a mission to Caboolture on Friday but had to turn around at Goodna as the cloud base was getting closer to the roof!!! Did a diversion to Heck Field and around the islands instead. Just got my ASIC card so next trip is to Lismore.
  18. G'day guys, "Canungra International" as it is known is a great little spot. The Stip is fairly narrow and runs along side a creek with trees pretty close to approach path on the northern end. Google Earth co-ordinates are 27'55 - 153'06 It is just near the winery at the turnoff from Beaudesert to Canungra and you must avoid overflying it so modify your circuit accordingly. Here are a few pictures... Canungra International

Cool, thanks for your responses guys. G'day Skyspud, what's the latest happenings out at kuppun? Much happening at the drifter factory, is it a worthwhile trip for a look around the factory I was thinking of heading out that way...
