A riveting weekend

Well, I'm blowed away! And really looking forward to seeing the finished design.

I reckon it's got good times written all over it already.............)

Project is coming along well, but just looking at the elevation I can’t help thinking about the C/G without wing sweep. If you haven’t started the wing design yet I would encourage you to consider the possability.

Would help a little if you move the engine forward and use the maximum prop extension.

I am basing my opinion on my experience with my Boorabee design, which had a 2 stroke more forward under the wing, a lighter 1.6mmx 127dia tube boom and fabric covered tail. The Boorabee Rearward C/G was limited by a 70kg pilot sitting only slightly more rearward than in your drawing.

I admire your concept but I would go back to the moment spreadsheet at this point you will have a pretty good idea of the moments of the remaining unbuilt bits.

During the initial design stage, the plan was to add a 4" extension on a 912, and possibly toy with a bit of sweep.

As it was, an EA81 with an NSI gearbox was bought, so I'm currently trying to extract the spanner from the werks, and various changes are likely to be made.

Current thinking is to do away with the NSI box, create an extension housing from the bell housing to carry an overhead shaft to extend probably around 12" aft, with a HTD belt reduction.

And probably still some sweep back...

Having a minor problem at the moment with having lost some of the drawings and the CAD program I was using when my hard drive died, you guessed it, hadn't backed up for a while

Has the hard disk actually died, or has it just ceased to boot up. If the later install it as a secondary disc in another computer and get into it. I have had success with Ccleaners cousin Recuvva getting back my wifes photos from a disk that scrambled it's file allocation system too.

No, the drive has actually seized.

It needs a platter transplant, maybe...

What's really annoying was the little Toshiba 1TB pocket drive that I managed to salvage some info with, died a week later.

I think I can save that one, although it's mainly movies and photos.

At long last the seat looks like it will finally work. I put the upholstered cover on it this morning and sat in it for a while as we pondered throttle cable & door latch placementimage.jpeg.2ec33e529f06aa8786242ced42d146a5.jpeg

Tell me you made "vroom vroom" noises. I'm looking forward to the day when I can sit in mine and do that...

Vroom vroom and more vroom - also was time to consider what an instrument panel may end up looking like, consider less reflective colours/materials in the cabin area, using the stick, etc
