  1. I have just tweaked something so see if that helps
  2. I have created to basic solution for Aviation Classifieds which can be accessed from the main side menu. It is basically a forum for you to add threads for any items that you wish to label with a prefix as For Sale, Wanted, Exchange or Free. When creating a thread you will need to select a Prefix, enter a price and a general Location. When you no longer want the listing to be active you can edit the thread and change the Prefix to Closed as I have enabled unlimited editing time with Classifieds When you first create your Classified entry it will come up as an entry in the Whats New page and any user including unregistered users can view your Classified by clicking Classifieds in the main side menu. I will also create some widgets to have around the site to show some listings. Classifieds here on Recreational Flying (.com) ARE FREE TO LIST
  3. There are 2 ways to bring the Aircraft into the site, 1 is to do it manually myself by copying and pasting record by record which will take some time as there are 400 records OR migrate them all at once however there is a mismatch of fields and tables between the two MySQL databases. I have been looking into the migrate way myself but a bit much and risky for me so I have asked in the software forums for any MySQL gurus who would like a paying job to do it. If no luck then yes, a manual copy and paste will start. In the meantime I will start with the Articles and then the Tutorials
  4. I must say that I really like the look, feel and the ease of doing anything in this XF software and the only reason I pushed IPS is that it offered so much more. But, with that "more" also came complexity for both myself and you the user and the silly thing is that no one really used all that "more" stuff. Anyway, I hope you are happy with the way the site is now with XF
  5. If you click on what's new (all) you will see all the posts you have unread plus also the ones you have read
  6. Interesting, it just worked ok for me. Please, can others check
  7. Guys, you most probably need to clear the old site cookies from your browser https://au.pcmag.com/how-to/29592/how-to-control-and-delete-cookies-on-your-browser
  8. Ok, the site software is going well, I added the Events system so what do you want me to do next?
  9. I have implemented a new Calendar/Event system to the site which can be accessed by the side menu system. This is a completely new and powerful event system that has: an RSVP system so you can let others know that you are attending the event an Invite system so you can invite other users to an event Reoccurring Events so you can enter one event and set it to be weekly, monthly, a set day of each month etc and much more Here is a demonstration video of the event system to help you to use it to its fullest advantage: And a big thank you from all of us here to @Old Koreelah who has been keeping Events (that he is aware of) loaded to remind everyone of events that they may like to attend
  10. As I posted above yours, use the link: https://www.recreationalflying.com/whats-new/posts
  11. Just using that link will take you to a generic whats new page but thanks for the suggestion @Arron25 What you can use is: https://www.recreationalflying.com/whats-new/posts If you are using Whats new (unread) then that is what will be displayed as that is the default for the site If you want Whats new (all) then you need to set Whats new (all) as your saved default and the same link will take you to that one To change your default Whats new page just follow the 3 simple steps in How To - Change What's New default view
  12. All First Class Members have now been updated on the site with extra permissions. The Donate button has been added to the side column on several pages and donations towards the monthly site costs of $50 or more will make the user a First Class Member for a whole year...that is less than $1 a week and not only will you be helping this fantastic resource stay active and alive but will also give you extra permissions across the whole site. I thank you for any help you can give, the site costs around $250 per month just for hosting so every little bit helps
  13. I am looking into a Blog alternative for aircraft builds and the one I have found works slightly different to a normal blog so still trying to find a default type of blog
  14. I just checked and it seems ok to both me and I also used a test standard user login and all ok:
  15. The largest file size for attachments is 1mb...was the image you were trying to attach larger than this? Sorry Red, I need more info...all permission look ok
  16. To clear cookies please see: https://au.pcmag.com/how-to/29592/how-to-control-and-delete-cookies-on-your-browser @Marty_d Also did you get the error page displayed when you came to the site from a shortcut on your PC. Next time copy the address in the address bar and let me know I am not sure about increasing font size at this stage as I will need to look into what the size increase will do across all pages...will keep this on the todo list
  17. All the spam should now be gone but if you do find any please just click the Report link at the bottom of the post...thanks for your help
  18. No you don't need to do that...if you are on whats new and click a new post, you will be taken to it. If you then click the Back button on your browser you will go back to the whats new page as it was before you went to the new post i.e. the new post is still showing as being unread. It has been marked as being read but as you are going back your browser shows you the same page that you previously viewed. If you then clicked on Whats new again or page refresh, the page refreshes and you will see the post you read has gone from the list. This is one thing that is very different between the XF software and the IPS software
  19. I would simply enter into the search box in the side menu: fuel pump for a Rotax 912
  20. Yes, for a general user it is 15mins...this is so that any posts that reply to your post remains relevant otherwise you could say something, change it and the following post(s) don't make sense
  21. The standard default view for Whats New is "New posts (unread)" however if you would like to change the default view for yourself to say for example "Whats new (all)" then this is very easy. 1. Go to the Whats new page and click on "Filters": 2. Unselect the "Unread threads" check box and select the "Save as default" check box 3. Click the "Filter" button: Thats it, now every time you go to the Whats New page it will default to, in this example, the Whats new (all) page. You can follow these steps to make any of the filters your default. Hope this helps...
