There used to be a Holden engine at the annual show that they would run without oil. Had STP or similar in it. They claimed it had been running all year at shows and still OK>

As an air force chap once said to a submariner - we have never left one up there, how are you going? -
He would be wiping his goggles frequently, and that steam exhaust would be oily. An example of what can be done today with steam is in:

Words you should not use in ATC zones

At Broken Hill the two airfield tenders were Tender 1 and Tender 2. The FSU guy called “Tender 2, Tender 2” and a young female student pilot responded “no, it’s twenty to three”. -
I read recently that the last Whirlybirds actor died. He played a kid,

Back about 1960 we lived in Albury and you had to go through a fruit fly check point to go to Wodonga. People used to go half way to Hume Weir and cross a bridge where there was no checkpoint. They weren't smuggling fruit, they just didn't like the invasive, authoritarian experience of someone peering into their car and perhaps asking them to step out.

Rob No it doesn’t. It just offers a flight credit. There is no option to cancel for a refund, with or without a cancellation fee. And even then, it will not accept my booking code because the flight has already been cancelled. It just says wait to hear from us, and there will be a long delay.

I had paid my Qantas ticket (I know I have whinged here before) and still cannot get a reply out of them two months after they cancelled my flight. Not by phone or email.

If we could access the contacts from our own phone ourselves it would help young women remember who the father was and help older people like me remember when they last saw their friends.

Hanged if I know.

If something looks like it shouldn't fly, then photograph and move on!

What is the medical basis for 15 minutes? You can catch it by shaking hands or coughing on someone.

Edit - so what happens when you are driving and passing cars? Do they all register as bluetooth latches on?

I dont carry a phone. I leave it in the kitchen or in the car. Check messages when I get back. So there is no point downloading the app.

“‘During his time with the squadron, from 3 August to 1 October 1916, X was unable to perform effectively as a pilot, lacking either the self-confidence or the physical qualities required,’ a CO wrote of one of his subordinates. ‘He has been transferred to the schools as an instructor. I hope he will be able to make himself useful there and do his best to dispel the unfortunate impression he made with the squadron.’” — Kings of the Air: French Aces and Airmen of the Great War by Ian Sumner Kings of the Air: French Aces and Airmen of the Great War

My annual is coming up, a lot less than 50 hours. Bad weather, bushfire smoke, dust storms and CV-19 have made this a very disappointing year for flying.

I have been on the High desert in Chile, which from memory was 12000 ft, for work. It slowed me down and gave me headaches but was ok.

How has COVID 19 affected your flying or intended flying
pmccarthy replied to SSCBD's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Went for a fly this morning and heard a conversation where Centre said "You have entered controlled airspace, you probably should descend". Reply was I am over cloud - can I have a clearance at this altitude?" "OK, cleared to maintain 5,200 and let us know when you can descend. Have initiated flight following. Do you need any help?" "No thanks, all OK" and a few minutes later "We are away from cloud, request clearance to descend OCTA" All very friendly and unstressed. -
This thread seems to be merging the themes of cooking and bats. Haven't you been warned?

As it was 28 days since I last flew, I did a 45 minute flight this morning to preserve my engine.
