  1. Also color, trail, fired.
  2. I know a guy who is in his mid 80's and still holds a C1 medical, CIR and flys at least a weekly, albeit in instructing these days. If I was that fit, yea, maybe 100 would work.
  3. Wasn't intended to Daz! Clearly a wind up............ Hence the other eleventeen mistakes.
  4. No I didnt, I ment loose!
  5. Seriously Daz, Some body needs to fire you from you're gramma Nazi position before you loose you're color and go insane. I think your to in need of a good vacation, have you done the Kakoda trail?
  6. Nev 25 If you work it out would you mind updating the industry or more importantly CASA so we might have an idea. Can't even work out how to do a C208 endo at the moment let alone what will be required for my renewal next month. I do like that I've been handed a NVFR under part 61 tho.
  7. Haven't received an email from Facebook since 2007 when I changed my notification settings
  8. I have it from a very good source that it isn't RA
  9. That's interesting to note GAFA, I too was thinking of the idea with the changes but didn't consider theC172 an option (Still wouldn't be for myself with what I would like to do), will be interesting to see what happens when every man and his dog running around with their own or a cheap cross hired 50K AC doing scenic's.
  10. What about when all 3 are at 90-100kg? I've not flown the type, but would have thought that would have been a push.
  11. Don't forget that when you're doing your calcs, that there will be a large amount over the ideal weight. I would think a 172 would be a push for commercial ops unless trying to make money on 2 pax. Just my 2 cents.
  12. I don't really know anything but, our LAME at work reckons scheduled maintenance on a C210 (yes I know, will be more then a 182) is around the $125+ an hour, that then leaves un scheduled. I just spent the afternoon helping him change out a 200hr alternator that buggered up to fit a 4k refurbished one.
  13. Flight school sponsored journalism?
  14. No need for that. There was already 30 unemployed pilots in Broome before this seasons mob turned up who would probably work for bread, wAyer, and a Friday arvo 6 pack.
  15. Not the same WA I work in. Nor the Australia.....
  16. We never seem to fly Friday's but thanks to murphy, wasn't a cloud in the sky and light winds. Not sure the guys on the coast had the same tho! Anyone on here from Geraldton/Exmouth? Herd from a friend a fair amount of damage was done.
  17. # One. Beer achieves this. # Two.Beer achieves this. # Three. Beer achieves this. # Four. Wont be beer I can tell you. # Five. My exceptions always seem to lower after beer
  18. Haven't read the link but had a giggle at the idea of casa thinking! Oh what a wonderful world it would be
  19. General public will be more interested in I mouldy 747 then any thing else, as we all know, anything under a few hundred ton is "just those lil ones". I herd a B717 (50T) referred to as tiny the other day by one of my pax, should have seen her face when she saw the C210!
  20. Thanks for the replays guys! Bit harder then what I was hoping but I've been able to get some rough figures. Well it hasn't been too much time so maybe I just need to drink more! Shouldn't take much convincing!
  21. Thanks Bruce, That will give me a start at least. That 60, is that meant to be full power or cruise? If cruise do you know the cruise power%.
  22. So I'm trying to do a comparison between piston, small gas turbines and large jet turbine engines, I've come up with a 0.57 pounds per hour per pound for the Trent 700 series engines, now I want to see how the others stack up. Basically I'm wanting to understand as to why we don't seem to be able to make small turbines efficient, and if we were to just how far it had to come. I want to try to keep the formula PPH/P if I can. What I was hoping all you bright Sparks might be able to tell me is, what would be a rough standard figure between SHP/thrust and also HP/thrust for a standard 6cyl piston non turbo. Now I know that there are a huge amount of variables so I was thinking cruise power only. I can reverse engineer the C210 and C208 figures to get PPH/SHP figures of 0.66 and 0.6 using company SOP power settings and fuel flows but I'm stuck from there Any ideas?
  23. That's what he would hit the ginger beers with most likely....
  24. Me and a mate rocked up to hand out our resumes when green to a nameless charter/scenic company, we sat with the CP for about 10 min. All seemed to be going ok, then the accountant came out, he was the CP there a 100 years ago he then asks us how to spell hangar, before I could stop my mate comes out with h a n g e r.. We were "escorted" out of there pretty quickly whilst having the accountants opinions of our piloting skills barked at us. Believe it or not we never got the job!
  25. Please mate can you stop with the photos!! Making one a lil home sick, haven't flown in the area since 2011 :(
