  1. What about the eight FTA aircraft in the circuit at YPPF, or the 15 Od students out on solos each day? I would have that they would contribute more then the occasional weekend flyers. Last thing I think we need is unfamiliar traffic at our busiest airports
  2. Only VFR night I've done was circuits at a capital city, so bright as hell but, when using the well lit runway without VSG with all the lights behind you was still pretty scary/cool but, if I wasn't current or trained there would not be anything cool about it. I read a while ago somewhere that FAA has no NVFR and that all PPL's are trained and awarded that privilege, can anyone confirm this? Report said that the pilot was FAA trained. Company that I worked for most only checked them for VSG approaches VFR, if not they were to file IFR if they could.
  3. If you going to go through CPL spend the money up front and get the best you can (I use lightspeed but have used bose, pretty much a commodore/falcon difference). You wouldn't believe how much of difference they make up the front of a c210, they are bloody loud!
  4. Nope. AFR now
  5. Also everyone around darwin will be on multi for enroute traffic to free up area
  6. Thanks frank. That was obviously meant to be two. Stupid ipad. So I've always monitored area while broadcasting on multi. One of our AC only had single comm and that would be on multi all day on a mail run, anyone broadcasting on area I would have had no idea about but doing 10-15 sectors and broadcasting on area seems annoying to me but I've never read that caap.
  7. Might be a stupid question but been years since I did any RA stuff. How many AC have to COM's?
  8. Isn't it 20 years?
  9. ERSA says call out AH
  10. 24hrs is good to find a post already read
  11. My bad elf uses glonass, you can see it when you open the app
  12. I use one with a 3G ipad as the internal gps is useless remote, they are much more reliable and quicker then the internal, battery life with the 3G turned off and a plug in 10hr+
  13. Yaw does produce roll, and roll does produce roll, they use differential, and , frise ailerons to reduce the drag differential but this will have varying effects throughout the fligh envelope. First thing they teach with a multi endo is engine out, yaw causes roll, roll creates more yaw, pitch down and spiral dive if uncorrected
  14. I've always liked the 177RG and reckon when I can but that would have my interest. 140 on 40LPH sounds good enough for me. What's your thoughts nev?
  15. Yea, TAF was for low cloud, also 270 turning 310/15. Wouldn't have been a nice day in that part of the world.
  16. I can't say that I can see either of 2 wings or two whole intact.... Eyesight must be better then mine
  17. 150 would buy you a nice C210 if 60LPH is ok?
  18. Firstly, the views on MTOW being some sort or regulatory annoyance is scary and a safety issue.. Secondly, on limits, there needs to be some so there will need to be a line in the sand, don't like this? ATPLs and a A380 endo are available to all with enough $ and time. MTOW in both RA and GA as mentioned will be a limit to one or more factors which usually won't be structural of the fuselage or wings but may be stall speed limits GA has these also dependent on CAT, performance, GA also has this , and many others I'm not too aware of Just because the wings don't fall off, doesn't mean it can't kill you
  19. C182 one exception with standard weights I've been told?
  20. Higher the altitude, higher TAS!
  21. I think that if you did 100hr in RA then went across to do a further 100GA toward CPL that the student would struggle to be at a standard to be employed. In my case I had 40ish jab hours. I then ignored them as the school wouldn't recognise them because that said I wouldn't meet their standard (and I was well short) I then did a 150hr CPL and then MECIR. My RA hours didn't mean anything until I was completed and everyone else had 190-200hrs! Then they counted a hell of allot, just not through training
  22. Just read Dutchies post, and clarifying the above meaning actually clear, as in well clear, if that was not available then the decision has been made for you
  23. What I would consider is wether it is safer to be at A035 and clear of cloud:whistling: Know what I mean. If it's safe at Ao30 your only just above with more terrain clearance
  24. A025 in that case I would say, legally.
