    Yes! Pet hate of mine, I know guys out here who cruise around on Terminal all day long, update from aerodromes they transit past, all because they don't want to bother (couldn't be bothered?) getting Area off Brisbane. Their idea is that it is more accurate, which it is but its no good you're the only one using it!! The difference between Area and Terminal this morning was 4 hectopascals or 120' before any instrument errors. Hanging around YPAD tho ild be on Terminal inside CTA tho. Alright sorry for the rant, back to topic!

    I was away but he came through here in his Caravan a few weeks back, the boys had a chat with him and said he was very down to earth, and was interested to hear their story.

    Like him or not, pilots as a group couldn't get a massage from a bath house on pay day, he at least takes the fight to them with what he thinks is everybody's best interest. Dick gets my vote! Albeit by default.

    Have to read the article when I get home but, looking forward to it! I'm planing on going at the end of the year to build some multi time and have a few friends coming along to share the costs (not exactly how I sold it to them:oh yeah:) . I can hire a C310/BE58 over there for half the cost of a C210 here Looking at doing about 30hrs there and some traveling. Might to a sneaky B200 endo do if the wallet permits.

    Most cambered wings will be in the negative region before creating no lift hence, at zero AoA lift is still created. Zero camber wings should create zero lift at zero AoA.

    I always think of it like this (maybe incorrectly!) newtons does not explain why a wing with zero AoA can generate lift and, old mate Bernies theory dosnt explain why a surface (and a wing) with zero camber generates lift but, the two together can explain all in my opinion anyway

    There is quite a good article I found on the interweb about how the Cessna 310 402A 421A(?) came about their design. There was a few reasons for the tip tanks that I can't remember but the one I can was that the tanks were designed to separate from the wing in an accident removing some of the fire risk. I'll see if I can find it.

    I think I could see a day in my life time that freight ops zero pilot (Knowing CASA they will make a new IFR renewal category for this too!) could be a thing. I don't like the idea of sharing the same airspace tho.. Or having them fly over my house.

    Slight correction nev. These days it's a VT Commodore or more likely a Korean 4cyl. VC drivers are baby boomers reliving their youth that haven't bought aircraft.

    Cant wait for the day that i'm doing a straight in approach at 5nm and someone calls turning "cross" and I think that they are "crissing" because they called "cross" for me to then find out quickly they are on BASE!

    There is one of these in the aviation museum in Darwin, I was quite surprised to see how simple the cockpit was, apart from a lot of engine instruments was rather simple. Any one know why it appears like there is 2 pilots flying and no pilot monitoring?

    I fly out of Broome regularly without flight plans submitted and they have never had an issue. I was unaware that they had the new technology, I've not been allowed up since the increased terror threat.
