    Unfortunately, the price difference isn't all that much between RA and GA anymore. I've seen some RA schools well up into the $200 mark and I can hire a sr20 for similar cost. DA20 for less then $200 and a c210 for $300. The relatively high initial price for the high end RA seems to be making it costly. It does however cost less to obtain aRA cert initally

    I started at 21, but never completed my cert till 23 and doing my ATPL at 25. Never thought back then I would have be able to go this far through!

    The VET FEE Course with Flight training Adelaide at parafield. Same course that the DJ/QF cadets are doing just no guarantee of a right hand seat, just an interview. It is a 150 hr course so I did have to forget about the hrs anyway but it's still funny to see how many noses get turned up when you mention RA. Even from guys with a 5th of the hours I've got.

    I'm studying through to my ATPL'S At the moment and what I was told with my ra hours was that at least my mum would be proud of them and to leave it their. This is with a cadet course although I'm doing it off my own back. Not through the airlines. Command time will still account eventually down the line even tho It might not be respected.

    I'm always misspelling things on my iphone, there are incorrect words that have made their way into the dictionary and i don't know how to remove, so it auto-corrects to the wrong spelling. Makes me look like a ----

    I agree HH but, it was CASA who returned the complete ASIC to the wrong address. I don't see why a complete ASIC application would be returned. The address wasn't even my last address, it was a few ago

    I rang CASA today to ask where my SPL ASIC were that i had sent through to them at the beginning of DEC to be told that the BOTH applications had been returned because there was a page missing from the SPL (which i know there wasn't) . The D!@(HEADS sent it to an address from 6 years ago (had it down as my postal address but had updated everything else) so i had no idea it hadn't gone through. Then, when i told the girl i needed it done in 10 days now! She said that i can have the SPL in that time but said that the ASIC application that they stopped even tho there wasn't anything wrong with it would take at least 4-6 weeks!!!!!!! BAH! I nearly got on a plane and went straight down there to murder her!! now im stuffed and don't know what to do! Everything that they have ever done for me they have stuffed up! Or caused me hassle, over it Starting a full time CPL course from the 28th! not impressed

    Doing my CPL at the moment and would like to know what GA Career opportunities are out there? At the moment I dont see the allure of the airlines (apart from the money difference) and think that i would be happier doing scenic flights around the islands back home! Is there decent long term GA work available where a respectable living could be earned? Or am i just not seeing yet why the airlines seem so attractive to some... Any thoughts welcome!

    Hey guys, Just signed up. Been on Rec Flying for ages now (under a different name). Im a RA Cert holder from Cairns and have bitten the bullet, im doing my CPL this year at Parafield SA with FTA. All my recent flying has been in Jab's but i do have a few GA hours from a while back. Anyways that's enough from me!

    Saw the Doc yesterday, said everything was in normal limits. GREAT NEWS but a major hassle to hear that, he didn't even bother with the ECHO STRESS just said that all is good. Now i hope CASA except what he is saying in his report

    Dont think ild have time Mick! (or the funds) Its a 7 day flying roster and 5 day study roster, going to have to try and fit some work in between all that. Anyone want to give me a weekend night job!?!

    Unsure of the two tests you have mentioned there but haven't been told to do them as of yet. And as good as a result that would be Nev i would be rather pissed off. Story so far, 30/11 told i had been accepted into course starting 28/6/13. 6/12/12 told that course wasnt running and have to join 28/1/13. 18/12 routine medical shows ecg issue. 21/12 told ill need to go away to see a cardiologist (means quitting job 5 weeks early and 7.5k short) 25/12 fly out So now i will be going broke and most probably in debt instead of a nice lil safety buffer.

    Just had my last appointment with the DAME this morning and he seems to think 5 yearly up to 40 and then "under review" from then on should it be found to not be a problem. At the end of the day as long as im not permanently grounded im willing to do what is required, will just be an annoying start to a career. On a plus note i have got exceptional results in every other part of the medical including all other cardiovascular related results so the DAME said its weird that the ECG says what it does, hopefully that means it wont be a problem

    Already hold a class 2 but dont want to spend 110k on ATPL and not be able to get a class 1
