  1. This is what " planning " is all about , Making sure the final carve up of projected profits / verses geting away with it , and who can keep his mouth shut long enough to pull it off. ! Mike

  3. Im trying to dig up photos of the avocet cockpit foam plugs , Of which i sculptured the seats for my wife & i . Then glassed over and into place A 100 foam filled space under the seat with the aluminium control colum tube going through the foam to center stick . In the prang the whole of the cockpit shatered under the impact and even the seat showed large areas of treeing and deformation , but conforming to my lower back shape & cussioned the impact and deforming the tube . The turret and motor are high enough to be thrown clear in case of head on impact . Like all things crashworthy , theres a certain amount of luck or good fortune in surving high end prangs ! Mike
  4. I flu the little jab 55 lsa , i recon this is a great little trainer , lets you know how slack you can become on the rudders . At least i don't have the nerves problem i had a few months ago , My excuse now , I've picked up a "boggy ", last week in Adelaide Mike

  8. I had to resubmit a W/B with new MTOW limits shown . If design limits of the aircraft are up to 600kg . Although in my case i was the designer & builder . Mike .
  9. I had the same issue with the fuel seepage on the mechanical pump on 3300 jab engine Nothing that a good shakedown check wouldn't find . Its good practice to have nuts & bolts , screws checked after the first few flights flights and so on ,for ever more ........ Mike
  10. Im waiting for the battery tec to catch up to my imagination

  13. Going down to Gawler tomorrow for some duel instruction . Due to 2 bouts of flu last year and the redesign and fitting the new vert stab . I,haven't flown for a year . Ive been hopping it at my strip but i think its prudent to do some duel time with an instructor before i solo in it again . As we all know , its also a requirement in the regs . I was hoping to get to narromine for the X ausfly in a couple of weeks . We'll see ! Mike
  14. The RPL is the best thing thats happened to me since rotec made the LCH , As ive said before the avocet was designed for the then proposed 760 kgs MTOW . Hence the white elephant gag . Now all i have to do is work out how to change the rego to VH. EXPERIMENTAL . Does anyone know if this is possible?? Cheers Mike By the way , ive limited it to singe seat status . Empty weight 394 kg
  15. Are you telling us to go sit back under our toad stools and suck our thumbs ! LoL Its all relevant isnt it ?
  16. D Dayfdd , could you explain briefly why its not advisable to use the aluminium fuel fittings in the engine bay ?I can understand that ally fuel line isn't a good idea due to vibration in the engine bay . Mike
  17. Tri tried that , they only stock cheap black stuff made in indoneas?
  18. I tried sourcing hi press hose for the SDS, i spoke to lames at parrafield and they suggested pirtec hose , CBC stock a similar orange hose , the specs are on pirtecs web site . Seems to be the stuff they use in motor racing , .i think ill go for the teflon hose when time to replace . Pirtec wouldn't recommend avgas but said ethanol was ok in their product . It seems to go hard if you let it dry out , Mike
  19. Tail wheel must be for ballast
