  1. So how's the rebuild going? Just finished techair's old girl and she a beauty Test flown last week after her 14 year rest. Perfect. Sorry no pics :). You'll have to wait for the movie. As it's done up as part of the movie :). She is done up into something very special and unique ;)

I sent him a realistic offer for my private flying Ultralight museum :) I have at present : a 1982 Invader MK 2 ( not yet flying) A 1984 Modified Chinook ( just finished rebuild and flying) A 1995 Nieuport 11c.1. ( flying) A 1987 LW-1 Lightwing ( flying serial 4. And original pointy cowl box back) Should pick up a Winton jackaroo in next few weeks :) Hope to pick up enough parts to rebuild my fav U/L. The wheeler scout over next couple months All planes will feature in a movie I'm working on :)
  3. The smaller the engine =the lighter the plane =the bigger the bump... Although the lightwing( with all that wing area but heavier) is far worse than the nieuport Engine wise 35 degrees for both my air cooled and water cooled 2t planes 40-65 hp less in the VW engine 30 deg... Also depends where you fly. Just ask anyone who has flown here. Lmao. Just last week had a pilot tell me he flew here( WX 10kts nrthly 32deg cels) I mentioned I didn't here him? He commented he dare not fly lower than 1500 as " geez you got some rough air at yours". Lol If I had a dollar for every time a pilot says that" Waiting for a glider pilot to fly over and tell me how awesome the air is here;)
  4. Hope this is not inapropriate but I'm looking at the hundreds of emails Ross sent me and this one made me smile. I'm very devastated by one my mentors passing... I confide in him often. Right now if I don't smile I'll cry.. Will remember all you taught me mate

  7. Well for the first time on my ipad I fell victim to the accidental inapropriate tap of the funny icon..... I traced my steps (after removal). And found that when scrolling on the ipad most including me scroll from right hand side ( were icon are located) you need to scroll few times and it's very easily done.... How ever some jump the gun first at the accidental icon taper before finding out why an inapropriate icon was selected. ( seems very common not just on here) There is a solution! I urge Admin to make the icon Double tap so we ipad uses don't ACCIDENTALLY tap inapropriate icons .... Also if you find your self has an inapropriate like/funny ect... Send a Polite private message in the case ( like me) they are not even aware any icon was pushed :) Have a safe and enjoyable Day.

  10. A quote from one of the hundreds of emails he sent me .. In re guards to spending 3 weeks working with me on my book.. I had sent him a long thank you message about how I couldn't offer him anything and told him my runway is his runway and the key is under the Mat. His reply. "Mate a nice signed copy would be good, but no hurry...helping you will get me going again to finish mine...only done 11 chapters so far..I would like to get it done this year if I can...I have a lot of UL flying to cover in CA yet. If I see something that I think is going to work I like to get behind it and help..that's why I jumped in as board member when I did, and the RAA is just happening right now...should be a good year I reckon. I would love to visit you sometime for sure...we could jam a bit also.....lol Ross Millard. Yes he did tell me ,my nieuport stood no chance against his formidable Albatross.....LoL Also just recently I sent him my self produced music CD Album His review was very humbling and appreciated . We won't get to have that jam we talked about.. And last month he sent email pushing me to go ahead with my independent movie ,based on my book ( the book edited by Ross)... I have started the movie and will continue it. Thanks for all your help Albc.1

  12. I don't have a picture but IDE like to let you know that he edited my book for free and even took a day off work to do it . He hoped to write and publish his own book next year and also drag his Albitross ultralight out of storage. I can't believe it.

  14. Update : this is your captain speaking.. Lol Any aircraft considered an ultralight or microlight in Australia will qualify!!!!! So all in. :)
  15. No point telling you when I could just show you! A lot know I am embarking on an independent movie based on my book. I have been securing early pioneer type ultralights and the new edition is the chinook. Once owned and flown for many years by member. "Techair" After I did a massive overhaul of all and every component ( replacing lots of stale bits) .with a Lvl 2 report and re reg and after 14 years, I did tests and 3 small test flights. Very Happy with her performance so I took her for .6hr cruise this morning. cruising around at 40 kts is absolute majestical bliss. Video here:
  16. LW-1 only have a MTOW of 400 kgs. ( all Lw-1's) I own LW-1 serial-004 . I needed to re do the place cards to state MTOW= 400 kgs...( not 480 as previously registed) Also the propeller if not Original( 2 blade wood) need certifying ( being factory built ). Bolly props can do this. Then there's the engine. I would say that it came out the factory with a 532( now a 582). 618 would require an engineering order unless it was factory fitted. Unfortunately lv2 can not modify a 25 reg plane without an E/O Hope this helps It's a long road but there is an end. Been there done that Good luck

  18. Its looking like any aircraft considered " ultralight" will qualify More news to come.
