Very early Vario gauge info needed
flyerme replied to flyerme's topic in Warbirds, Vintage and Classic Aircraft
Email Dear Mr (sorry; I'm still not sure of your name), I have checked with our engineers. Instruments bearing the AM cypher like this were generally generic; deliberately designed to be used on a variety of aircraft as in-service replacements. The black-on-white face plus the AM cypher suggests sometime after 1918 but well before WW2, by which time most aircraft instruments were white-on-black so that they would show up better with cockpit lighting. We have no means of interpreting the codes/numbers on the back, so I am afraid this is as much as we can tell you. With best wishes, Reginald Byron Tangmere Military Aviation Museum. -
Hello ? I have an old Air ministry rate of climb gauge I'm having trouble getting a valid date on? I have emailed a number of British museums with no definite details I thought it was '1942' But reply from museum today think otherwise? It's part numbers bring up Spitfire however it is a rare white face black numbers What I know is it was most likely a spare part not seen service at time But later in life was installed on a home built plane I was given it as a gift from my friend whom just past away few weeks back Here's some pics and here's the email reply from museum

. So I noticed yesterday. My mates old plane advert has been re advertised ? He sold it 2 months ago and he has passed away since? What do we have to do to stop payment and advert for this ? Thank you

I only have ipad and only get 2 bars of service .. I recently advertised on both this great awesome free site and also paid for advert on aviation advertiser. I had no probs at all. I had already been viewing aviation advertise without any trouble? I advertised on 4 sites fir maximum reach... 2 site are free others are paid. No problems at all? Aviation advertiser even called within a few hours to confirm everything. Actually spoke with a real person.lol. Rare theses days My argument would be if RAA are now financially better off with the move( removal) then Ide suggest they move these savings on to the members in form of reduced fees!

I recently sent a " reputable " company a heap of messages both email and ph. As I ordered some AN bolts weeks earlier that hadn't arrived. No reply no answer to phone calls even though they had a answering service to leave my detsils. Eventually 7 weeks later they refund my money with no contact and no reasoning. No email to tell me they refunded either.( just by chance I found the refund) .. Fondly enough the day before refund I made a post about them taking online orders and not delivering. !!!!!!! Then 2 weeks after that they return my call ? Lol. Suffice to say I gave them my thoughts on running a business.... My last business ( mechanical engineering workshop) IDE take calls at any hour ( open hours 8am - 6pm) .. Peeps would call as late as 9pm sometimes but that's just part of the customer service ( go above and behond ) Happy customers always return ... As fir above AN bolts - not only will I never deal with said business but I will not recommend them at all.... I was happy to find another company that was brilliant. Sent me bolts and INVOICE within 2 days of order .. Yes that's right no up front costs just good ol humen trust.. Don't pay ,don't come back .... Very happily paid then gave them some free advertising. All winners ....
