  1. No advice from me, but it would be great to be there when you arrive! What date do you anticipate that or is there any way you can keep the forum updated with your locations? Enjoy the ride!
  2. Great to hear you all got home. We left the field at around 1pm, and dealt with thermals and 9+ kts coming home, but being a sucker for punishment went out to the Sandy Straits to see the bay to bay yachts race coming in under spinnaker. Great day and good to finally meet some other flyers. Now the rain is nearly here...
  3. I'll be there about 7am.... for breakfast. Look for my yellow xt912 trike! Be great to meet some you guys.
  4. Like I said '5secs' of fame right at the beginning - XT912 for about 3 mins total. A little disappointing - I thought they might use it through the show. Oh well. It's air time.
  5. Tonight on ABC2 (I think at 630pm - check your guide), there is a show called Deadliest 60, and from the advertisement I saw last night there will be an XT-912 starring in the show - probably 5secs of fame anyway. May or may not be worth a look for those interested.
  6. That was very enjoyable. Thank you very much!

  8. My trike weighs 250kg with a 10m wingspan - without my or anyone else in it!
  9. This seems expensive but here it is anyway... http://www.aircraftonline.com.au/product.php?id=1397
  10. Two thumbs up from me. Awesome feeling isn't it!
  11. Thanks Admin for your story and the photos. Maybe I'll get to one of these one year.
  12. VH-YGY just went past and landed at YHBA. It SCREAMS! How fast is it??? Nice looking bird too. According to the radio calls (5 mile and 1 mile final straight in) he covered 4 miles in 1.5mins(actually slightly quicker - and with a head wind). That puts his pass at 160kts! And it looked like to too.
  13. Awesome... That's a hoop you won't have to fly through again! As far as I am concerned, it just gets better from here. Well done!
  14. Keep them coming. We were there in 2011 and have to agree it is fantastic. Even my wife says she enjoyed it! And that was just to see the museum, we did not see the airshow.

  19. That really only leaves pilot error then?
  20. Thanks all for your contributions. The Council Public Consultation has just begun, and that's why this guy is now making a noise. We shall see what comes of all of this soon enough. If I can speak to the land owner, I will give him your suggestions.
  21. rdarby - my point is he is scare-mongering with a whole lot of incorrect facts. The general public don't know what we know. They will just believe his lies and exagerations, and then prevent the project - for no reason. This really annoys me and many others. It is actually none of my business - I do not intend to use the airpark, but others of us do, and there is a regular 'knocking on the head' of entrepreneurial projects here, then complaints about lack of employment. Rediculous. Thus far the project does have council support - but this lier guy is intent on stopping it. Another incorrect fact you guys wouldn't know about regarding 'why not use the local airport and it's facilities' is that the airport manager is doing her best to prevent the use of Hervey Bay airport for recreational aircraft purposes! Especially my instructors trike business. Another entrepreneurial kick in the pants.
