  1. Might have decided 4 seats were more useful.
  2. The question is... is it well hung? (You knew someone would go there.)
  3. Something's wrong there. It's definitely not a Cruzer because the tail surfaces are all wrong for that. Plus the VH register shows it as being 700kg MTOW where the Cruzer is 599kg. CH-801 - note the tail surfaces and windows aft of the door 750 Cruzer - standard fin and rudder, symetrical HS, curved rear window Crashed a/c -same flying rudder, inverted airfoil HS and double rectangular windows as the 801
  4. Well, the 4 foot high club, anyway. Probably very briefly, given the huge cantilever. Not sure shagging is allowed in the top front bunk.
  5. The perfect gift for someone who loves helicopters, pallets, sharing a room with others, and bad taste.
  6. I think it's a Zenith rather than a Sav, because it's got the "inverted airfoil" HS, and the all-flying rudder. Actually looking at the shape of the windows aft of the door, and the fact that it's VH registered, I reckon it might be a CH-801 (4 seat model).
  7. We should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. If not why not.
  8. Hope he makes it. "Critical" is not good. Zenith CH-750 by the looks of it. Might be a 701 with added windows aft of the door. Looks like polished bare aluminium which is unusual for these slab sided planes. Wonder if it was test flying before painting?
  9. Custom HS or did they change the design? Mine is fat and like an upside down airfoil.
  10. Hmmm... "UPS" pilots now, with IFF and target radar? That one's been around since shortly after the Wright brothers hired a mechanic.
  11. Worth every penny I reckon too Derek. Good luck with the sale!
  12. I'm not talking about the BRS, I mean the "Safe Return Emergency Autoland" - big red button the passenger can push if something happens to the pilot. Apparently it takes into account nearby terrain, weather, remaining fuel, winds etc to calculate the nearest suitable airport and runway. Squawks 7700 and advises ATC of the situation with text messages. Flies the plane down to landing and to a full stop. All without the passenger touching the controls. There was an article about the Vision Jet G2+ in the latest Australian Flying magazine which went through its capabilities.
  13. Don't the more expensive Cirrus planes have it?
  14. Inside thoughts and outside thoughts, PM! 😂
  15. I don't think people will want to come 20km south of Hobart then down our steep & dodgy driveway for a tin of paint.
  16. No distributors in Tas by the looks of it, OT.
  17. Thanks KR, the sponge on a string is a good idea. Given it's open at one end, I could probably use a sponge attached to a smaller diameter tube as well. Brendan - good idea, but the spars are around 2m long so cost might be an issue.
  18. Hey all, I'm at the stage of cutting and installing the wing struts. These are seamless chrome moly tubes. I've cleaned up and sprayed the outside of the first one with etch primer, and now I'm thinking about the inside. What's the best way to rust proof the inside of steel tubes, that aren't sealed on the ends and are on the outside of the aircraft? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Marty
  19. Hi Mike, the Zenair people sell bigger than normal forks but don't know if they go to 26". Have you posted a topic on Zenith.aero? Cheers, Marty
  20. There must be an interesting story behind that.
  21. I must get on to JG at some point for elevator VGs. Apparently the 701 is much nicer at low speeds with them on.
  22. Quote from "Flight of the Intruder" - "Son, don't EVER ask a man if he's a fighter pilot. If he is, he'll let you know soon enough. If he's not - don't embarrass him!"
  23. Welcome Micus! Your build looks like it's progressing well. I believe there's quite a lot of support for Zenith builders in Canada. All the best! Marty
