  1. G'day Derrick, welcome to the forums. What's happening in Laos? Any lghtweight flying going on? regards
  2. Highly unlikely - most of the aliens I know use diesel...... regards :big_grin:
  3. Geez, Tomo, you've sure got it tough. I don't know how you put up with it. regards
  4. I think it's fair to say a T&G creates a lot wore workload in the cockpit. When I was training my instructor didn't introduce me to it until I was comfortable with the stop and go's. I don't believe my aircraft (J160c) cools down to an extent that a T&G would be asking too much of it. If anything it cools down more when taxiing back to the hanger. regards
  5. I'd be talking to the agent about your concerns and getting it recorded in writing. If it lets go just out of warranty things should look better when you front up for repairs. regards
  6. G'day Bazz, wlcome. I grew up in Midura, now living in Echuca. I too am loving the Jabiru J160. regards
  7. I use True Bloo Goo in my ride on mower, the grandkids bikes, my wheelbarrow, and hand truck (trolly). It's fantastic stuff half my acre property is full of Cat Heads/3 Corner Jacks. I haven't used it on the Jabiru (J160c) as I have fitted the 10 ply Trello's (which can support the weight of the Jabby un-inflated (I found this out when I pinched a tube on fitting)). regards
  8. Geez, they kept that a secret, didn't they? Only just up the road and knew nothing about it. I must get out more! Terrific video Ben. A class in its own. regards
  9. Well done, Darky. When you start your navs, Echuca is not that far away. Drop in and say G'day. regards
  10. I bought mine (Kannad XS4 GPS) from Clear Prop of course. Sent in the registration form (as you do). Thought I'd get on line and check if registration had been actioned. It had with the following ERRORS: 1. My mobile number WRONG, 2. My son's home phone number WRONG, and 3. Jabiru entered as Jabiry. I'm dumbfounded. Better get on line and check your details...... regards
  11. Geez pradeep don't feel too bad. We've all done it (and if you haven't your not trying!!!) A good landing is when you can walk away and a great landing is when you can still use the aeroplane. You give the impression that maybe your instructor wasn't too happy i_dunnoi_dunno or have I missread between the lines. regards :big_grin: PS congrats on the SOLO.
  12. Yes, they have, as well as the J160 that's why is now a J160D and not a J160C. (Now a collector's item. I have one, please que from the left....) This means that any changes/improvements that Jabiru do, won't cost them a zillion dollars for certification. regards
  13. My old Pop used to say to me - "If a job's worth doing, do it once, do it properly" good old fashioned advice, I recon. regards
  14. Well done Flighty! - You are now 100% responsible for your actions. Your instructor i_dunno has deemed you "Unlikely to kill herself unless she does something really stoopid" by awarding you your certificate. Now the real journey begins. fly safe. regards :big_grin:
  15. I would not advise planning to arrive at an unfamiliar airport 10 minutes before last light for the following reasons: 1. If the weather is marginal - there could be delays or you will be unable to land, 2. If lots of cloud - visibilitiy may be well less than "Last Light" 3. It is a popular time to fly just before last light, circuit might be very busy, 4. What if there has been and incident and the runway is unusable. There are probably many more factors to consider. (like headwinds, etc etc) regards
  16. I know an organization that has around 10,000 members and is interested in aviation. Perhaps a one off levy - 50.00 each member (500,000) and get the GOV to go dollar for dollar, and, with the sale of shares at 50.00 each (i'd buy two or three) and we would be well on the way - The home of RA_Aus. (and we would all own a part of it) regards :big_grin:
  17. Good idea, Sue. Doing things for kids with cancer/other ailments sure gets my vote. regards
  18. Gazumped by Tomo..... regards :big_grin:
  19. As Far As I Know...... regards
  20. An old one but a good one (saying, that is, not the landing) "Did we land or were we shot down......." egads
  21. Looks like the middle of no where to me (Sorry - it's been a long day....) regards :big_grin:
  22. Welcome Crazy Jab Guy, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. Any NZedder who has the sense to go home, gets my vote. We're a great friendly bunch here, enjoy yourself. regards
