  1. You're darn tootin' it is. Lookout Temora, :ah_oh: BigPete and Decca are a comin' tamorra. (Friday) regrets (none):big_grin:
  2. ......DarkyDarthSarcasmVader ;) was all a quiver, :ah_oh: for she had heard on the grapevine that an old NES star  was about to re-amerge on the scene. YES no other than PlainJaneJabbyJuicerMidnightFruitOTtheVineFlyerGeoff  is headed for Temora. Said to be carrying a good drop of communial wine shipment for another oldtimer NESter, the good FriarPuk (who, rumour has it, has been on a long cruise). Young Tomo's eyes are like saucers, as he frantically searches for his autograph book. Crasha are especially interested, as they have been after our Booze running hero for decades. He flys a white Jabibrew, is all they have to go on. Will they get him at Natfly Bollocks, :black_eye: however is still upset :yuk: about having to pay for the new ladder for the fire engine.... regards :big_grin:
  3. So Geoff, how's the new paint? regards PS Will be there around 10.00am (Friday).
  4. G'day Pradeep, there's a fair chance the radio you hook into will be a Microair 760. Try looking here: www.microair.com.au regards
  5. which made me have a senior moment.... regards :big_grin:
  6. Try www.shonkylogic.net regards
  7. Sorry, don't bother, didn't see the "l" at the end of "kew" so is that cool? regards
  8. At the risk of showing my age and and not being up with the latest - whats "kew". regards
  9. G'day Mick - are you heading to Temora? regards
  10. and so say most of us at one time or another. Welcome Barry, to the best resource on the planet. regards
  11. G'day Ross - great to hear from you. How's the build going? regards
  12. LightSabre - a single seat version of the rare retractable Sabre :black_eye: often only seen in the crashified section of the RA OZ magazine, i_dunno (although PrivateDickPete does know of a local existance, not far from Echooka) powered by a knacked :yuk: (neuted?) 912. regards :big_grin:
  13. Just because it says Rotax on the filter doesn't mean they made it. A lot of items like oil filters are made by one or two major companies and then "name" branded for the end supplier. regards
  14. A couple of points/observations: 1. Don't go to full flap too early - make sure you're going to make the strip - in other words later than sooner. 2. To get into shorter strips (especialy those that have high obstacles, trees etc) you will need to use full flap. It's a skill, like all the other bits of flying that you do/practise. 3. If you have electric flaps, you can vary the degree of application. So use first flap (around 15%) and then add a little more later (say 25%) until you get comfortable. regards
  15. Mmmmmmm - cold rats with a little bit of mouse garnish. I need (and the Peterfest continues.....) regards
  16. ....and so Bollocks  romped away (not that there's anything wrong with that ) and climbed onto the firetruck. Like a very bad re-run of "Those Magnificent Men..." Bollocks rang the bell with vigor that would have made Benny Hill proud. The chased poor old FlaplessPete all over the aerodrome until finally the Jabiru ran into the ladder and landed upside down :ah_oh: on top of the firetruck. Poor young Tomo :raise_eyebrow: was suffering double lots of Dejavu :yuk: as he relived an earlier post. Ollocks :black_eye: crawled out of the wreckage - "Jeez, has anyone seen my nutz" he asked, searching his pockets for his favourite mid morning snack. GratefulPete said, "No, mate, sorry, but I do have some Jatz crackers if that helps. Leaving the nutless Ollocks and SnackTimePete to discuss the finer points of low glycemic munchies, Tomo  wandered back to his tent still shaking from witnessing what could have been a right major muckup. thumb_down (Sorry Maj). The firechief was really upset about the loss of his firetruck and was looking for vengance..... regards
  17. G'day Pete, I would have thought something that would run on AVGAS would be the go. Plenty of fuel available thru the fuel drain. But this may be too violatile. We used Hexamine (solid fuel like a fire lighter) when I was in the army. This may be a bit more stable/safe. Anyway I'm not much help - I will be interested in further replies. regards
  18. I'm with you too, Tomo. Only time I don't use full flap is when there is a strong x-wind or I'm expecting very strong sink. When doing T&G's I always use full flap and, let that front wheel come down before removing 2nd stage and then apply throttle. regards PS - The great thing about the electric flaps on the Jabiru is that they are variable - a lttle more or less to suit conditions.
  19. How come Savannah never made the list? regards
  20. Well - obviosly flying was probably OK - it was the landing that turned to regards :big_grin:
  21. Geez Mark, you bored or what regards :big_grin: PS - Pinched one of the tubes putting the rims back together :yuk: - didn't know until I tried to inflate it at the airport. Was SO EASY  to take off tyre and put in new tube (again :yuk:), only took about 30 minutes using hand tools only.
  22. Did ya notice that the TRUMPET player  was in the pilots seat Natural progression I 'spose.:big_grin::big_grin: regards :big_grin:
  23. ...but the Fire truck (yes, I know it was a crash truck, but who's writting this anyway ) had problems of it's own. :yuk: YoungHotFootTomo, :ah_oh: in a last ditch effort to land and join in the fun, has managed to catch hold of the fire hose that was unwound to dry (after a fire dousing demo) using the leather toggle rope attached to his :censored:I'mLostInTheFog Whistle. So while TwisterTomo trys to wind himself down onto the ground by turning tighter and tighter, the Fire truck team :keen:i_dunno:blush: are having none of it and are desparately turning in the opposite direction.:devil: The Queens Scout (let's call him Russell ) has returned grandmas teeth and the two of them are standing together, mouths open :ah_oh::ah_oh: (and full of teeth) in awe of what is about to happen. :yuk: "Holy " said grandma (the second daughter  of a lay preacher) as PoorHe'sAGonerTurnaboutDeadDuckTomo starts to lose vital lift on the inside wing of the JabiStall plunger. thumb_down Theres a kind of a hush (from the huge crowd now watching in total silence) as the JabbiAboutToBeRooted flips onto its back and heads straight for Grandma, :ah_oh: Russell Scout :black_eye: and the Fire truck. "Look Out" shouted..... regards :big_grin:
  24. ....but this was no ordinary brussel sprout. No sir-ee, this was a queens  brussel sprout who came up thru the ranks after starting as a lowly cub. :ah_oh: With a dib, dib, dib, our latest addition to the NES  adjusted his woggle and carefully put grandma's teeth into his leather compass pouch. That'll hold 'em until granny wants 'em he said to no one in particular. :) Suddenly Young ICan'tGetThis:censored:ThingToLandTomo roared overhead at 2 feet dragging his foot on the tarmac desperatley trying to slow the Jabizoom down to stall speed. :yuk: Everyone on the ground was chanting PAT, PAT, PAT, but Tomo took no notice as he thought it was just a loud re-run of the Young Einsteins. (If you're not as young as Tomo, you may need to ask your grandkids about this.) Meanwhile grandma :broken_heart: was lookin' for her teeth........ regards :big_grin:
  25. Am I correct if I say by 1st April 2010 every 2 seat RAAus aircraft must have an ELT/EPIRB on trips greater than 50nm from home airport/strip. regards
