Isn't there a new generation of Gazelle's being built ? Something rings a bell there. I only hope they make the cabin a bit wider -

Bushbaby, Explorer and Safari Aircraft
mAgNeToDrOp replied to Kitplanes's topic in Other Rec Aircraft
Hi Stefan Can the Explorer or Safari (i.e. home-built Kit) be registered in Australia with a 600 KG MTOW? I'm not too clued up on the regs but I assume that would/could be an experimental E-LSA? Are there any that are currently registered in Australia? -
The demise of GA aviation in Australia

I don't know if being in my early thirty's is classed as being a "kid" but the one and only hurdle for me is the cost, i.e. expendable income (real world/family/life commitments take priority as they should) I guess i'm not earning what I will (hopefully!) be earning in later years so it may not be so much of a problem later on. I only hope i'm healthy enough. I earned my certificate in 2008 but I've only been able to chip away on my Nav's this year. Cost is still an issue. To be honest I've been asking myself if it's really worth it but then again flying is my passion, so enthusiasm or interest is not a problem. I'm not giving it up anytime soon. -

I'd say a casa also need to relax the Rpl medical -
I have the same train of thought, once I do my solo nav I'll have the 10 hours required to get my PAX endo. I only intend on taking passengers after i get my X-Country done and dusted. I'll definitely feel more confident that I do now about taking a willing passenger.

RA-Aus instructor certification, is it worth it?

You'll probably have to pay your own liability insurance as well, unless the school is willing to put you on theirs. -

Excuse my ignorance but can you explain what is meant by " fly slower with a tailwind and faster with a headwind" are you referring to engine power (rpm) ?

Wow, I was shattered watching that, can't imagine how they felt at the end.
