  1. Looking forward to this one.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYAjtoHr0nw
  2. So, I'm off on my first trip to mud Island... ;) I'm not sure if I'll have much time to go sightseeing as it's a family trip, meeting the in-laws for the first time etc, and have to keep the missus happy. We'll be based in Farnham and I was wondering what aviation related attractions are easily accessible from there. I was hoping someone familiar (other than Google) with the place would have some suggestions. Need to plan my escape if I can get away for a day or so ;) Will be based there for the next few weeks with a couple of trips to the Greek isles for good measure
  3. I hope the quality of the build won't suffer as a result of the new "Made in China" sticker. Obviously China/AVIC is capable of manufacturing a quality product if they want to. I've always associated Brumby aircraft as "built like a brick outhouse" in as far as LSA's go, now I'm not so sure.. proof will be in the pudding.
  4. Maybe a dumb question, but can you set ozrunways to use 10 minute markers instead of 10 mile markers?
  5. The Android version will not have all the features of the IOS version, yet.... As it technically a new product in development. But good to have the option. I'd probably wait a few versions of the Android release before I ditched the iPad
  6. Some of the aircraft I've flown e.g Tecnam Eaglet have no Carby heat (Rotax) Why would that be?
  7. Vfr cruising altitudes: odd bunch in the east ;)
  8. What a magnificent machine..... thanks for posting
  9. ATSB safety Investigation link: Looks like Windshear was also a factor :( The ATSB has commenced an investigation into a collision with a tree involving a Cessna 172, VH-EEC 19 km NNW Albany, Western Australia, on 13 July 2014. "During the landing, the aircraft encountered a crosswind and significant windshear and the pilot conducted a go-around. During the initial climb, the aircraft veered out of the cleared runway area and collided with a tree. The aircraft was substantially damaged and a passenger sustained minor injury. As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview the flight crews and gather additional information. A report will be released within several months."
  10. I've always wanted to try out a foxbat, might pop down for a visit sometime..
  11. VH-EEC. According to the news report the plane drifted into the trees from a XWind:
  12. Welcome, where do you fly from ? Busselton aero club have a foxbat and a sportstar?
  13. Lived in Perth for 10 years, house prices were always just out of our reach, ok maybe more than "just". We've recently moved out of Perth to the Bunbury area for Family reasons. Can actually afford to buy a house, our (minimum) mortgage payment is way less (~$80 less) than what we were paying Rent in Perth, for a crappy unit. Traffic is not an issue, lifestyle way better here for what we want. Another bonus is no more 2 hour drive to the airport to go for a fly! More like 10 minutes . Couldn't be happier at the moment.
  14. Ive tried similar adapters and it will capture only what's going through the intercom, as I'm sure you know already. Personally I prefer using a lapel mic inside my headset, so it records what you hear, including some engine noise and the radio chatter. I used a cheap eBay lapel mic and works great.
  15. Sunbather deserves a darwin award for lying there, natural selection (almost) at work. Lucky that pole on the threshold gave way as well...
  16. Looks like a ton of fun...
  17. I do better with pretty pictures: Link As far as I know the aricraft needs to be ADS-B equipped in order to be visible on programs such as FlightRadar24
  18. Looks like you can fly there and stay in the soon to be converted DC3, *adds to bucket list*..... Some photos in the link
  19. it's only a "free" trial for the first month, then you have to add $19 to your annual subscription if you want to keep the Pilots Touring guide....
  20. I hope to pop down. Just moved to Bunbury so not too far...not flying currently, driving. ( whose idea as it to get a mortgage anyway....)
  21. Welcome, wouldn't mind trying out the Foxbat, looks like a fun aeroplane.

    VH-RAR

    Very nice looking machine.
  23. Wow, nice plane. Just don't let the fun police see you bank the raa registered one more than 60 degrees! Would be tempting..
  24. Happy 50th (belated) birthday to the King Air c90. The king air fleet is still one of my favourites...
