  3. The kit has arrived, all unpacked and assembly has started. Cant believe how many parts there are, I'm sure KFA have sent me too much stuff. Looking at the parts inventory every part, nut ,bolt and washer is part number tagged which corresponds to the assembly manual drawings very professional. I'm impressed even I cant get things mixed up. They have done a excellent job.
  4. check this out I want one but I bet its at a cost https://www.youtube.com/embed/4vGcH0Bk3hg?rel=0
  5. me too. . . . . they have flour bombing and balloon popping in other countries. not sure if it legal here. but we could fly somewhere and see who can drink the most coffees, eat the most donuts. that should keep the boffins at bay hahaha! All jokes aside it could be good, what were you thinking Ricky.
  6. I'm building also Bruce so stick between my legs and center quadrant if I have room, either way throttle will be right handed. Steve
  7. All my life I used my right hand, thought my left hand was pretty useless with anything needing finesse. Trained in a Jab and always flew a Jab until I flew an aircraft with its stick between the legs and center quadrant, thought I was in for a big learning curve. First landing was just acceptable, after an hour of circuits I felt at home. Now comfortable with either configuration, haven't flown from the right hand seat yet though.
  8. Great job Kevin, looks excellent you should be proud. I'm just starting a kit, rag and tube don't want to take 4 years though.
  9. Hi , my Explorer kit is near ready to be shipped here from Kitplanes For Africa. I opted for the quick build wings, hopefully reducing my build time as I'll be on a mission to have it flying by summer. Bit optimistic I know but gotta try, round Australia trip here I come. Anyway have been looking at You Tube vids on building rag and tube and it looks fairly easy but time consuming. After months of looking at Kitplanes and other manufactures I settled for the Explorer because Africa's outback and its flying conditions are more like Australia's than any other country. Folding wings is a must have along with STOL as I want to be able to land almost anywhere and pack it in a trailer on occasions. Their web site is professional and have been excellent to deal with. I would like to hear from other Bushbaby owners with building tips and its flying characteristics, although I'm sure it will fly well. will keep you posted Steve
  10. Does the 170 have a volt gauge fitted because it sounds like its not charging John. I need to get the Bulldog to Murray Bridge to start my training in it, have nothing arranged with Mick yet except the sooner I get it there the sooner I qualify and the sooner I can take you upside down
  11. Looks like your going to be busy Wednesday Mick, you have a Bulldog to ferry too
  12. Harley Night Train, wife rides a Sportster. I wish she was as interested in flying as much as she is in riding.
  13. sorry about the delay i got caught up with work, first picture is the box i picked from the telstra shop
  14. awww come on Gnome its not that far is it haha! I was referring to John, your still welcome anyway. I'll take some pics tomorrow, its not fully mounted yet as I need some small dzus fasteners, but you will get the idea.
  15. I have a set of lightspeed zulu's that I have used for a few years now but dont find them much different from the David Clarke H10 that came with the Bulldog
  16. I have used an ipad car headrest mount, removed the base and attached the remainder it to my panel. It allows the ipad to rotate, angle for better pilot view and is easy to remove. Drop in and ill show you how I done it.
  17. By the by, Steve, if you get into the riding you'll find it addictive. I love my pushbikes, great way to get around. - boingk It's 12 ks from my place to the airfield boingk, and am looking forward to it.
  18. I got a push bike, my wife's been hinting that I'm putting weight on lately, now I know she means it haha! . . . So knowing she doesn't like to share I got her a lawnmower have a safe and prosperous new year guys and gals Steve
  19. slow revving, light, powerful and the twin cams are very reliable.... this has been argued before but im still all for it. there was a manufacturer in the states doing just this who posted a video, sounded better than a radial. cant remember the name though
  20. Congratulations John, 7314 is a good aircraft and my preference also, had her out on sunday and looks like it was my last fly in her. Jabiru's are very good airplanes. so I'm sure your list will be valid in six months,
  21. hi ryanb, could you elaborate a little more
  22. hope you dont put me in that category Kev ponytail and all haha!! I'm a nice guy its me bruvvas ya gotta look out for (only joking). I too am a ASC member. John did you find out the bar times? shame I probably cant make it Sunday and have to take a rain check for the beer. Drop in when you see my hangar open. I doubt you will be a nuisance. Steve
  23. Congratulations it will only get better from now, did you notice how quick they take to the sky when your solo, or were you like me too busy thinking ... wheres the instructor if you need him or her. haha! anyway what day are you putting the beers on Steve
  24. I believe the RPL has been approved or near approval, and one only needs a medical from your family doctor. If your fit enough to drive a motor vehicle then you can fly. Two of the restrictions that I know of are 1500kg MTOW and only one passenger, theres probably others but I haven't looked into it.. Hopefully this covers your medical problems .... Steve
