    Got the following in a reply to my 'cost recovery' submission: CASA has reviewed all of the feedback received from the aviation community and, in listening to these concerns, CASA has decided to delay the introduction of the flight crew licencing regulatory fees until further notice.

    Yes its essential to be a total pain and they might do something just to get rid of you. The silent majority will always be ignored in favour of the argumentative minority. Write lots of letters and follow up with phone calls. After all look at the attention a self-publicist like D'head Smith gets - they even put him in charge for a short time.

    Tried the iPad Air with OzRunways, seems to function fine, although that's only on the ground so far. Next the iPad mini.....

    Ditto. Seems to be running OK on an iPhone 6. Trying one of the iPads next. Haven't found anything to dislike (yet).

    Also interesting are the claims that the find supports the supposed crash location, when the drift forecasts show it could have come from just about anywhere along the Indian Ocean's eastern boundary.

    No sign of a fixed rudder trim tab in those photos, has rudder trim been installed?

    I recall watching a Vickers Vanguard (yes I'm that old) on a circuit detail apparently abort a 'touch and go'. Smoke and popping tyres all over the place. Seems that the handling pilot and check Captain missed that the brakes had been placed into the full-on position on downwind.
