  1. 300kg includes the pilot ( 90kg) and minimum 15 ltr fuel and any payload . this is your MTOW.....maximum take off weight
  2. I'll be running a 1600/55hp VW up front to turn the fan. A lot more realistic sounding. According to the paperwork I got with the plane the weight should be 280kg all up with pilot.
  3. Yep..... will be a 19..registered plane. There is a nieuport stationed at Emu Gully, Hellidon and its 19....regoed
  4. Hey Gene, mate, I was fortunate in that I bought the plane with the wings tail and fuse sides already made and the rest of the tubing to nearly complete the plane. I bought it from Andy........ known on here as Escadrille. He would more than likely be able to steer you in the right direction as for what to use and where to get it. I've only had the plane for a few months and have been using the tubing that come with it. I think it origonally came from Performance Metals. But I'm sure someone on the forum woud be able to help out with likely suppliers. I guess that by the time I'm finished I will have had need to chase up some more myself as I think I will be short on tubing for the outboard wing struts.
  5. Bracing cables on the landing gear and anti drift wires on the axle. All new to me and seems to take ages.
  6. Good idea.I would like to do similar on the Nieuport
  7. I used it for many years as a plumber as well and suffered no ill effects. We used a rag soaked in it and always had it on our hands. Prepsol, or grease and wax remover as used with automtive paints does a good job of cleaning for repairs on fiberglass and the likes.
  8. Amalgamated Plastic Engineering Plastics--Fabricators - Toowoomba, QLD 362- 364 Anzac Ave, Toowoomba QLD 4350, Australia (07) 4614 0044
  9. What about a plastic tank. There are a few different types on the market or get one made in Toowoomba. Light, ding resistannt, easily repaired, chemicle proof.
  10. Tuesday and the wheels are on. just need to sort out drum brakes and will flip right side up. Tail wheel next.
  11. Undercarriage almost done. Hoping to have it on its wheels by the end of the week.
  12. I couldnt really notice any difference in load times here in Qld. Maybe the western states would benifit more by the sounds of it.
  13. Mid next year all going well. I have everything I need except the fabric and Im going to get some quotes on that shortly.
  14. The Nieuport is a Grahame Lee Plans built with Airdrome supplyiny the undercarriage kit, control assembly kit and a few other bits and pieces. It was a project started by someone else here in Toowoomba and now its my turn.
  15. Hey Scotty.........Where did you get the leather helmut and goggles from. I need something like that for my Nieuport.
  16. Ok all, my Nieuport is well and truly on its way with the wings, tail feathers and most of the fuselage built. I probably should do something about the registration. What have those who have built or are building done about registration? Do I wait untill I'm near flight testing for rego aplication or apply now?
  17. Why move your house????? Leave it where it is and get another one.
  18. Welcome Johann to the best Recreational Fliers Forum on the planet.(i'm a little biased here) I'm sure that given a little time and reserch of previous posts and members input you will hopefully find a solution to your problem.
  19. Well, I've almost completed the fuse on my nieuport today. A little more bracing on the rear of the fuse and I'll be ready to start on the undercarriage and fire wall forward setup. Engine arrived today courtesy of Lyle along with a prop. It's a 1600 VW that hasnt had flight time as yet and has only been bench run. cant wait to set it up on the engine stand and give it a run.
  20. undies were boxers that reached to your knees and singlets came in white or white. Just look at todays generation and you''ll see that underwear ( if worn at all) is more than likely on the outside for all the world to see. What happened to bloomers, corsets and..............................
  21. Free stainless sheeting for gussets/brackets etc........Old dishwashers. Get them from appliance stores or rubbish tips.
