How about we drop the thread before I get myself banned. -

Gday Obi, sorry I thought we were in a private chat. My mistake. I’m always amused that people feel the need to comment when they dont know the full subject. Feel free to PM me. Cheers Brian. -
Strut braced 582 drifter prop blade

Gday Obi, The Bolly went straight on. There was no need to change anything else. There was a little trial and error with getting the best pitch angle. Now the engine won’t over rev. The fuel burn increased a little but I am happier with the extra power. ( I’m 130kg and needed all I could get.) I’m home next week and send you the details you are after. Send me your mobile number, I’ll give you a call from the hangar. Cheers Brian. -

Gday Obi, I still have my Brogla prop I removed serviceable from my Drifter. I can't remember what size Bolly I replaced it with. 3 balde. I'm currently in WA for work, i can have a look when I get home if.you want. Cheers Brian. -
Swap them out and put a set of Blackmax disc brakes on it. Get the parts from AircraftSpruce. Well worth the effort.

Rotating parts and reciprocal engines do not go together.

There is a reason why NOBODY (with a 30min exception) has flown my Drifter from the front seat in the 15 years I’ve owned her. Rules are in place for a reason.

I have a 4 blade Brolga prop (17 degree blocks) spare in my hangar. But if you are looking to upgrade, get a Bolly. -

The ATSB publish all reports. It would nice to know the causes of accidents so we can prevent it from happening again. If there was a fault with Drifters causing accidents I would certainly want to know. But for some reason the RAA decide not to publish this information. Why?

Pretty sure there is one in the club hangar at Holbrook.

These are still manuals for a 503. I have tried finding manuals for an upright 582 but still haven’t seen one.

How many Drifters are planning on going to Narromine this year for AusFly. Looks like I might be able to make it this year depending on weather, work and the wife. I don’t want to be the only rag n tube there. Thanks.

For as much as I have searched, I have only ever found the Flight manual for a 503 WB. If you find one I would like a copy too.

Gopro 3. Always been a fan of Freddie.

I bet the 787 had no fuel and over inflated tyres. Didn’t some Strongman pull a 747 a few years ago?

G’day Mate, with the BlackMax brakes and not a lot of effort I could comfortably only use the bitumen at Holbrook to land and stop on. 150m of tar.

I have a set of BlackMax brakes on my Drifter. Absolutely love them, they are available at a reasonable price from AircraftSpruce in the US.
