  1. G’day All, my daughter is undergoing flight training and was wondering is there anybody that can offer conversion training for a Drifter in the Riverina area. Her training so far has been excellent, but I cannot fly my Drifter from the rear seat and her instructor has little hours flying Drifters. Is there anybody in the Riverina that has Drifter training experience.
  2. Has anyone ever noticed the number of Engineer seminars are available? And where they are.
  3. G’day BP, I’ve had a 3 blade Billy on the back of mine now for 2 years. Being the ample person that I am, I needed the best out of my prop that I could. Thoroughly recommend it. With its current setup the prop won’t allow you to over rev the engine. As a draw back I am now burning an extra litre an hour. But for the extra performance I’ll give that up.
  4. How would you go covering a Drifter with that? The Drifter wing is effectively a bag pulled tight. I am curious about its cost and would it effect my Certified aircraft registration? How long does it last?
  5. You will always love your Drifter. May you have many safe and fun flying hours with her.
  6. I enjoyed the video, but there are a lot of things demonstrated that you really shouldn't be doing. It's a big list, Lo flying, exceeding Vne, flying an unserviceable aircraft, poor preflight. But worst of all you threw a lit cigar onto the airfield as taxied out. What a waste of what looks like a nice stogie. If you want to see another irresponsible Drifter pilot, YouTube search Tree Top Flyer in a Drifter. P.S. Cool video.
  7. Too nice a day not to have a cruise around home. Only glider pilots will understand.
  8. If he is such a bad person and they have been investigating him for so long. Why did CASA issue him with an AOC last December?
  9. So why did they delay the evacuation of the aircraft. You wouldn't be able to stop me from getting out.
  10. Love the Side slip approach.
  11. I think that Holbrook is organising something.
  12. G'day Skyfox, This is the install on my Drifter. This was done by Wayne Fisher before I picked it up. There is a cable running the length of the boom in a runner every 3-4 ft. ( I think they are all bike parts?) You also need to check the AD's on the RAA website about Drifters as I think there was a defect report on them for the wire rubbing on the elevator. Hope this helps.
  13. Try http://www.drifteraircraft.com/Manuals/tabid/97/Default.aspx The manuals there are as close as I can find. I used 2 bathroom scales for mine and made sure it was level when taking measurements. The rest was just basic maths. (didn't find the RAAus website or tech director helpful with how to do a tandem taildragger pusher W&B.) If anybody has a manual for a WB upright 582 I would be most interested. Cheers

I really should add a few more. My Drifter parked at Temora 2 years ago (even have matching tent colours) My daughter (Sabre) and I flying over the Hume highway near Gundagai
  15. A clean skin Mirage has 600 gallons on board (+55 with wet leading edges), she can burn 1 gallon per second. You might not get very far, but you will get there quickly.
  16. I hope you are referring to the taildragger. I love them too.
  17. G'day M61A1, After I did my Weight and Balance, my Drifter came in at 235kg. It has a 582 upright rotax. What engine do you have that gives the extra 33kg?
  18. How much do you weigh? I am no lightweight. Send me a PM and I will tell you about it.
