  1. Its your plane, you should have them.
  2. Camden is controlled airspace again, no go for RAA Aus aircraft.
  3. I built it, I fly it, I have serviced it without accident or fault for 8 years. I have flown all over the state. Incompetent...maybe..??
  4. Why not fly into the oaks just south of sydney and camden. Hell of a lot cheaper and better people. Closer than Warnervale.
  5. Sounds like the 19 ## aircraft people need another organisation that is not trying to be a CASA wannabe and alienate the members (and board). This is for RECREATION, and fun and other stuff, not a CASA over regulated organisation that is slowly but surely alienating the people that are its main supporters. The point about the servicing and parts for older aircraft is valid and I wonder what the reason for the changes are. As stated above, I fly in it so it is my responsibility to make sure it is correct, not a 3rd party. If do it, I know it is right and if not, then it is my fault and my responsibility only.
  6. Thats multitasking with a vengence...lol
  7. Thanks for that Andy, didnt know.
  8. Has anyone else has problems getting to the motions that andy points to on the RAA Aus website or is it just me?
  9. The magazine is very selective on what they publish. A flying travelogue was sent to them a couple of years ago and was not published possibly because of the type of aircraft (mine) involved. No reply, no communication just no publish.
  10. Dont worry about the naysayers Andy, I was only asking the questions, not pointing anything lethal at you. Your replies have been helpful.
  11. I dont know, my aircraft has has 2 x 110kg gents in it, full tank of fuel for a long cross country flight and performed fine, came in under the MTOW by about 30kg.
  12. The motions on the website go up to 1/10/14 only and contain 2 motions only. One confirming the CEO position and the other about the RPL>. No note as to whether they were won or lost and nothing to do with reorganisation. Where are the motions you refer to?
  13. Andy, it is pointless trying to propose a solution without access to all the facts and figures and a list of the plans already in place to solve this. (I have always worked on the basis that if there is a problem tell me about it but also propose a solution to complete the package." We have been kept in the dark with..."in camera privacy".. decisions for a long time and we assumed that all was right with the world. My point was that the apparant historical problems have contributed to the current mess. More power to the new CEO and his attempts to solve this and if there is pain then maybe that has to happen but there is an old expression that says "Its no use complaining when you are up to your a..se in alligators when you forgot to drain the swamp." Apart from cancelling things like the Flyin at Temora, reducing the magazine circulation, upping fees, what else are they proposing? The members website is normally woefully out of date (I had to point out the Natfly 2015 planning that was only taken off recently etc.) I love flying my aircraft, I want to be proud to belong to an organisation that allows me to do that and is perceived as a friendly, helpful organisation. I would like to see something in place to advertise our presence to the populace in general (how that is going to happen without the shopfront mag I dont know). We elected the board to do these things and represent us. They do a sterling job and I personally am thankful for that. I am not disparaging the board in any way, I am only asking for information and justification of decisions that affect my membership and the money I am paying to keep flying. I think thats reasonable?
  14. Andy, noone doubts there are problems, it just that we dont have the information from RAA Aus to make an informed decision. This seems to have cropped up suddenly so are we looking at: 1.. Previous incompetence that seemed to be addressed by a golden handshake that should never have taken place.... 2..CASA playing fast and loose and loading expenses (they should have been asked to increase their funding to cover these as they imposed them) 3..updates of procedures/new systems..that cost much and produce little. We have been told that everything was fine for many years so what changed...we increased our fees a couple of years ago, we hjave cancelled the flyin at easter, the magazine seems to be going west and you are now saying we may have to increase our fees again. How soon will this become a self fullfilling prophesy and have people leaving because of the increased costs and no returns. Dont throw the baby out with the bathwater. Just my 0.2 worth
  15. About to be the digital library for those that have internet access. Hope the magazine loads fast enough for those with very bad reception.
  16. hate mosquitos, love elephants. Give us an excuse not to worry about it by letting us know the state of the nation in simple terms that even I can understand...
  17. Removal of a benefit with no reduction in paid fees becomes a price increase by stealth. My membership included the magazine, so what has changed financially to alter this. Take away the magazine, give me the money back or call it for what it is, a fee increase by stealth...
  18. Until you get your cross country endo in Oz, (Nav) you are limited to 25 nautical Miles from your aircrafts home base. After Cross country endo, the skies..(lol) the limit.
  19. Fees go up, bureaucracy increases, no Natfly yet our AGM is not at the head office and the board wont be there, why bother.
  20. Instead of pedalling your political wheelbarrows which are all self interest garbage anyway, how about we GET BACK ON TOPIC. We are discussing wind farms and their effect on aviation, not the government subsidy of farmers, miners or any elses underpants whatever. STICK TO THE TOPIC or open a new one.
  21. i follow the us ultralight forum and have fiund it very useful and containing great posts. i hope you find the same here. most members, i feel, would be interested in cross pollinating with other overseas bretheren.
  22. It appears that those that can, do; and those that cant, join CASA. Why do we appear to be being victimised by an Ungerman/Stit fued.
  23. You may not have many windfarms but here on the southern Tablelands we have a number totalling over 300 windmills in a small area. Great to fly around.
  24. Morgan single seater followed by the Onex. Also love the Xair I fly.
