  1. Poteroo, As an owner of an RV9A I can agree 100% in what you say re landing the 9A. I have flown the 6's and agree they can be a little more twitchy. The air speed/s certainly need to watched closely. Cheers Mike

  3. I I am advised by John that aircraft sold in 24 hours. A good buy. Mike
  4. Can talk with Brissy Ctr on the ground at Bundy / Hervey Bay and many other airports.

    Tomo gets a Pacer!

Tomo, is this the Pacer that has been "metalised"? I am not sure about the wings but believe the fuse has been alloy covered. They are a nice aircraft. Cheers Mike

    SB inspect heads

It is up to the aircraft owner to see that the aircraft complies with all AD/SB etc. It was pointed out at the last CASA Seminar I attended a few weeks back that it is up to the Registered Owner / Operator to check the CASA site for AD/SB etc. I often check the Vans site for bulletins and I know Jabiru post on their site.
  7. Bert Flood advise that... Rotax do NOT have an “on condition” operating schedule. They also advise that crankshafts are NO longer available for the 618 engine so cannot be overhauled. Attached is a file from Rotax giving TBO / Calendar time for the 912 series engines. I assume from this that once an engine reaches the TBO or calendar time then the engine is to be overhauled??? 8. I hope this seminar is well attended by those around Brissy. Good to see both RAAus and GA doing the presentation. I would come down from Bundy however, we are driving down to Bendigo Vic. on that day. Cheers Mike

    Tomo gets a Pacer!

Congrats Tomo. I assume it is one of the two that have been advertised at Albury?? Cheers
  10. Welcome Marty.... Spent six years based in Kununurra WA and worked at Argyle. loved it. Cheers Mike
  11. Spoke with RAAus today and this topic is currently being discussed. A statement will be made soon hence no comment in Sport Pilot Mag.
  12. No change to what was posted in post #1 of this thread?? Mike
  13. On page 12 of the Oct issue of Sport Pilot, there is a letter to the Editor asking a question re Rotax engines in Certified (24 etc) aircraft and IF these engines can be run "on Condition" after exceeding the TBO or calendar time when operating in the private category i.e. not being used in a flying school etc. There was no comment at the end to the question. Is what the submitter saying correct??? I know that in GA once the engine exceeds TBO or calendar time then the aircraft must be used for "private" ops only.
  14. FT, what exactly do you mean here? Your posts in many threads leave me wondering what you are actually trying to get across. PLEASE spend a bit of time constructing a response that I for one can understand.
  15. Reported this morning in the local paper. (The cause of the crash was still a mystery, but authorities have revealed that the pilot made no distress call). Mike
  16. RAAus assisted the Police with the investigation on this one and many others in the past. I have yet to see ANY findings ever published at all let alone a summary within 30 days like the ATSB do. All that has to be stated is that the course was not structural if indeed this is the case on these fatal / serious accidents. Mike
  17. http://www.atsb.gov.au/publications/investigation_reports/2014/aair/ao-2014-164.aspx This is the second RV-6/A in just a couple of weeks. Condolences to family and friends.
  18. Here is link to leave tributes to Lawrie. http://cqplanespotting.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/calliope-plane-crash-victim-was-true.html Mike
  19. Have a look at this site... http://www.findlostaircraft.co.nz/mh370%201.html A different slant on the aircrafts location. Mike
  20. I have maintained from day one that the aircraft was under full control to its final resting place. IF the aircraft was on autopilot when it ran out of fuel and over the Indian Ocean then there WOULD be debris by now washed up on a coast somewhere. If ditched under control (a320 in the Hudson River) then the aircraft was probably intact and just sank. If not in the Indian Ocean then it is at some planned destination but where? Mike
  21. Would have been on watch for this flight Ross, incident happened at 11:52. Tower is manned 0700 to 1900 daily. Mike.
  22. Broome airport is class D. J230 would of had an airways clearance.
  23. Yep Ozzie. I thought the same thing. Cheers mike
  24. Why are the ATSB investigating this incident involving an RAAus aircraft http://www.atsb.com.au/publications/investigation_reports/2014/aair/ao-2014-160.aspx but don't attend when the accident involves fatalities in RAAus aircraft?
  25. From the Gladstone Observer. http://www.gladstoneobserver.com.au/news/wooderson-aircraft-victim-had-huge-passion-for-fly/2413825/ My Condolences to his family and friends. Mike
