  1. It appears that the Sep issue is NOT on the RAAus Web site as yet (11 Sep 15). I read somewhere a while back that the magazine would be posted first week of each month. If posted then it (magazine) should be available in PDF form on the web site. Yenn is correct as link in latest E news takes one to the July issue??
  2. Does any Forum member know the whereabouts of the Oldfield Baby Lakes Biplane 19-1324? It was first registered in the early 90's but RAAus inform me registration has not been renewed for a few years. PM with contact details if known. Many Thanks Mike
  3. If the photo was taken by you, when and where? See post 4 this thread.Cheers Mike
  4. Has any member seen the Aug Sport Pilot magazine. Doesn't seem to be on the RAAus web site as yet that I can find anyway.
  5. Sorry Russ what I was trying to say was that ASRA can comment on an accident but RAAus don't seem to want to when certain accidents are also cut and dry to use your words. I cant understand why the two organisations have different views on reporting.
  6. And again ASRA can come out and state this. RAAus still wants a Coroners Report before commenting on any accidents they (RAAus) attend.
  7. G'day Mark. One S20 Raven flying in the south of NZ. Friday, 27 March 2015 www.nzcivair.blogspot.co.nz/2014/11/future-flyers-at-custom-aviation-ltd.html ZK-MFD (c/n 04140014) is our first Rans S 20 Raven and was registered to Moa Flat Downs Ltd of Tapanui in Southland, on 3/3/15. The S 20 is the latest in a long line of Rans aircraft designed by Randy Schlitter. It features the side by side 2 seat fuselage of the S 6 but constructed entirely of 4130 steel tubing (rather than the aluminium rear fuselage of the S 6), mated to the wings of the S 7. It also has a higher MAUW of 598 Kg, which is higher than both the S 6 and the S 7. Another view of the S 20 Raven ZK-MFD with the rebuilt S 6 ZK-ZAZ, outside Custom Aviation's hangar at Taieri. NZ has always been a supporter of all the Rans models. 9. G'day Jake, at my last annual, Russell (LAME) sent the transponder and altimeter to a Sunny Coast Co for the checks. Reinstalled and static system tested. Cheers Mike
  10. Electric motor back up giving 20 mins of low power when your piston engine fails. http://ep02.epimg.net/elpais/videos/2015/07/30/videos/1438276012_199752_1438279982.mp4
  11. Steve, that was raised with the President and CEO at the forum here in Bundy a few weeks back. They advised that the register was removed as it was so far out of date. It (register) will go back on line when the new computor system is installed. There will be a lot more info about the aircraft published like aircraft BEW/MTOW and rego expiry etc. This will be taken from the registration data. Cheers Mike
  12. Sib, the L2-L4 lists are on the web site. Click Teck then Maint lists and all are there. Also all staff and board members numbers etc are under Contact. Mike
  13. Oscar - were you thinking of the Socata Rallye MS880B? From my memory, they flew a bit like as you described above. Mike
  14. Reported as being a Hummel Bird with engine failure after take off. Pilot in hospital.
  15. Hi Alan, good to see you are back building again. Is the fuselage going to be built with 4130? I guess this will be discussed in your next posts. Cheers Mike
  16. I cannot see ANY reason for the Ops Manager to be there unless on a "private" visit. Tech manager on RAAus bus maybe.....

  18. NZCAA watching the UK medical discussion. http://www.caa.gen.nz/could-signal-ppl-medicals/ I also like the UK idea of placing older type aircraft (Austers/Tigers etc) onto a Permit to Fly system
  19. Give Tony Kerr at Gympie Aero Maint (Qld) a call. He should be able to help.
