  1. So what were the "actual words"?
  2. Would be a start in getting some of the past members to renew. Use some of the proposed membership drive budget on reinstating the member magazine to all members. The members market has taken a dive. Used to be around 100 adverts now down to a dozen or so. might even get back some of the big advertisers like Mendelson etc. mike.
  3. Great post Ian. Informative and even my fingers can now touch the right icon on my 4.5" Samsung mobile. Cheers Mike
  4. Garry, are you moving to NZ. I saw the post re selling a R912 as moving overseas. mike
  5. Bob, my RV9A stalls around 43kts at MTOW with flaps. If I am solo and use full flap I need to be back to around 50kts over the fence or she will just float along in ground effect. Not a problem when there is plenty of runway but have to watch it when operating into fields of less than 700m or so. I know of an RV9A that will be on the market in a few months. Will only have basic instruments and radio. Mike
  6. Bob, is the RV4 registered single seat OR just limited to single seat ops due MTOW restricted to 600kg. Would normally have design MTOW of 680kg. The RV9/9A has a stall of around 43kts and is the best Vans aircraft able to be registered RAAus especially if RAAus get 700/750kg MTOW. MIGHT even change mine over but there are other factors to consider. Mike

    Vans SB 16-03-28

Thanks Ian, Had been notified of the SB and will be inspecting my RV9A when next at the hangar. Cheers Mike
  8. Garys aircraft is infact an RV6. It was built by Gary in NZ and he flew her over when he retired from AirNZ to the GC. Mike
  9. Ian, the aircraft Gary had was written off about a year or so back. Lost power on takeoff from Mason Field. mike
  10. CU there Brett. Plan to fly in this time RV9A (VH-LAT) Mike
  11. Ian, great idea. There was no discussion with the membership of RAAus about moving the Members Market. Adverts in Sport Pilot are 10-20% of what they used to be. i guess members dont want to pay the fee for a sport pilot advert IF the advert is not going to be read. Mike
  12. Have to agree with Magnetodrop. I now have 4g with a speed check of around 20mbs and there has been no improvement in the loading of this site. Still very slow to load an individual advert. Data Hungary as well. Mike
  13. And I havn't been able to find anyone in CASA to explain why the extra weight for floats.
  14. No...it only takes a few hours to organise a meeting and election of a new leader. This was the case a few months back.
  15. Could also try Jennifer Beck 0419 784 715 Suncoast Flying School
  16. What about following the Brittish system of having a Light Aircraft Association (LAA)? That would allow light aircraft like Austers and Tiger Moths etc along with Eperimental to fly on a Permit to Fly system. seems to work over there. Just another idea to discuss.
  17. Agree Mark, I would like to think RAAus was writing the report prior to post 72 above.... Mike
  18. Will we see an accident "Brief" from RAAus or was the Katoomba accident Brief a one off?
  19. I believe that a C182 was damaged by vandals there a while back. The aircraft was in a hangar.
  20. Correct John, now owned by Colin Smith of Mandeville near Gore SI NZ. http://www.microaviation.co.nz/ cheers Mike
  21. This may not happen IF there was an independent Annual Review of the Maintenance. This Review would be attached to the Rego Renewal Application.
  22. I havn't advertised anything via Aviation Advertiser recently but assume when submitting an advert an extra amount needs to be paid IF the add is to also appear in the magazine?? Handing the Members Market over to AA was a backwards step. The new RAAus Website could of handled the "Members Market" very well.
  23. The last few posts have nothing to do with the thread topic. Back to topic Please.
  24. Looks like it may be a casting issue??? Not good in any case Mike
