  1. This one is even better as Aus Registered and has slider canopy therefore no wet instruments when tipping up the canopy. Mike
  2. The RV7 will be above the 45kt stall speed. Only RV9/9A would qualify. RV12 is LSA. Mike
  3. Jaba-who, are you saying that if you have built an aircraft from a kit (Vans for example) that if you didnt assemble the engine then you cant do an annual inspection and issue a maint release without the assistance of a LAME to sign off the engine side of the inspection?
  4. David..Other than the RV12, the Only other RV model that has a stall speed less than 45kts is the RV9/9A. That is why a number of members on here have built this model and currently flying to a MTOW of 600kgs. My RV9A is GA registered and I wont hold my breath for a weight increase any time soon. I think with any weight increase will see some strict maintenance requirements. Mike
  5. Dosn't the CAO that the aircraft were registered under limit the MTOW? 55/25 etc even if tested to a higher structural weight by Hughes.
  6. Any news from RAAus Exec at the recent meet the members forums re the MTOW increase application to CASA?
  7. Try contacting these guys. THAI FLYING CLUB -- General Aviation and Sport Flying in Thailand -- AOPA Thailand -- www.thaiflyingclub.com I have a mate flying for an airline in Thailand and he says the Thai CAA are extremely difficult to deal with. He says alot of light aircraft are for sale because they have a new one aircraft one pilot rule for registration. Mike
  8. Was just thinking the same thing yesterday. Mike
  9. Many Thanks for all the effort and money you put into this great site Ian. I check in a few times a day. Always something new to follow. Mike.....
  10. Hi Sue, with change of date does that mean the quarterly breakfast is now on the 11th Feb? Normally first weekend Feb/May/Aug/Nov. Cheers Mike
  11. And good for 10% off Duty Free at AUS/NZ International Arr/Dep ports.
  12. Had enough and closed shop! Bundy Flying School also closed. Queensland Aviation from Redcliffe doing a bit of GA/RAAus training.
  13. I could never understand why the "Classifieds" were handed over to a Commercial company. Good to see this resource is back where it should be...
  14. You are correct Geoff. CASA should visit NZCAA staff for some guidance...
  15. Have a change in the legislation so RAAus or other RAAO release the findings through the ATSB. They dont have to wait for a Coroners Report.
  16. Two men killed in an ultralight plane crash Condolences to family and friends
  17. Problem is that the cause will probably not be published. Need ATSB to investigate for this to happen...
  18. Is Gary still building kits? He is/has moved back to NZ.
  19. Contact the Receivers (Worrells) in Brissy.....they should be able to give you an update..
  20. Thanks Kasper.....would have been nice if they followed the NZ rules....class 1 single seat, class 2 two seat. MTOW up to 600kg for both limited only by design with max stall speed of 45kts in the landing configuration etc. We could of had one nice and simple exemption....But......that would be too easy
  21. Is it correct that if 95.55 is cancelled and now covered by 101.55 then those aircraft that were limited in MTOW by the cancelled order can go to a higher weight (600kg) if the design allows. e.g CA22 Skyfox that is limited to 450kg can go to the design weight of 520kg? GR912 lightwings may also fall into this category....
