  1. I hope you were not on your own, or on your own for long when you got there. And that you have people you can talk this through with. Don't discount the effect that it may have on you and look after yourself.
  2. Hi, hadn't read it on the ABC, fake or otherwise, but I did read the article in the Sun that Biggles referred to when he opened this thread. 'Small plane crash lands in Clyde North Andrea Hamblin, Herald Sun 21 minutes ago A PERSON is fighting for life and a man is trapped after a small plane crash-landed in a paddock southeast of Melbourne.' Lower down in this article it referred to 'The man is in a serious but stable condition'. The link I put in just went to the other thread on this forum that was already running. Can't read your link as it just tells me to subscribe. And I think the articles have been updated to provide the information re the flying school that wasn't there previously. But regardless I hate the way the media sensationalise things. If the ABC was presenting the information in the same way then my views about them are the same. So unfair to family and friends to read this type of stuff. Hope the guys are both okay.
  3. That's great. Thanks poteroo. I'm formation endorsed but not current. Never occurred to me to put the number of aircraft in the formation in my logbook .. but I probably should have.
  4. My plane came from the West :) I brought it back from Jandakot some years back. But we are fractionally further East than Bernie. Also thinking about trip to the West. Had hoped to go this August but still not quite ready so not sure if later this year now, or next year.
  5. Think this thread is about the same incident. And further down the sensationalist Sun article it says 'The man is in a serious but stable condition'. So hopefully not fighting for life. Lightly down at Clyde North in Victoria
  6. Hi Yenn, I have an anti-glare screen protector on my iPad. Helps enormously with the glare in my RV. May be worth a try.
  7. I have used both OzRunways and AvPlan. Changed to AvPlan years ago and love it. It gives weather displays clearly on the map, and highlights active prohibited areas. I have a glare filter on my iPad and find it readable in a glary RV cockpit. I also use MyFlightBook on my phone to keep my log book. Makes it so easy for she who traditionally struggles to remember to put flights in the log book.
  8. AvPlan does let you turn on, or off, the ability to edit the flight plan on the screen? The default is off, so you would need to touch a spot and add it as a waypoint. Not that easy to do accidentally?
  9. Welcome Aboard!
  10. Cables near the terminal building would be great. Near the car etc. but until they do I'll keep parking the RVs on the grass. But getting the stakes in through the gravel etc in the grass can be quite difficult.
  11. ATSB report refers to minor damage. Investigation: AO-2017-073 - In-flight collision with object, SOCATA TB-10 Tobago, VH-YTG, Parafield Airport, South Australia on 11 July 2017
  12. Either my RV6A or my partners RV9A. Cheers, D'
  13. New airport manager seems good. Very committed. Lots of plans, whether he'll get them across the line remains to be seen. Helped me tie my plane down when I flew in a couple of weeks ago. Home for me is still https://www.facebook.com/justsublime But I work in Melbourne so I get kind of confused ..
  14. My home is up that way. And of course the Ben Buckley stories abound :)
  15. Welcome Aboard! Good thing we're all different. I'd hate long trips in a 4. My 6A lets me stretch. And the 9A has even more space.
  16. Only 8' 10" ....
  17. Glad to see the new parking areas are being used :) Be nice when they put in tie down cables though.
  18. Welcome Aboard!!
  19. Huge achievement! You've built a beautiful aircraft. Welcome to the forum.
  20. Thank you, kind sir.
  21. Flown beautifully a few times since.
  22. Well I'm not sure it currently is, although it probably should be ..
  23. Investigation: AO-2017-005 - Collision with terrain involving Cessna C172M, VH-WTQ, near Agnes Water, Queensland, on 10 January 2017 provides some detail.
