  1. Agree with post above about writing it down. Also, be kind to yourself. This may impact you more than you expect.
  2. Hopefully not extinct. Although I guess it all depends on your interpretation. Holbrook seem to host what I think would come close? And hopefully Narromine will be a friendly old fashioned style fly in.
  3. We've booked accommodation so will definitely be there, weather permitting. Gold coin donation for entry so I guess I can afford this one :) Be great to meet some of you there. 4. Thanks. I've learnt something new. Think AusFly is meant to be inclusive.
  5. Umm sorry to be dumb, but what's AUF?
  6. AusFly is on the SAAA website as well as at www.ausfly.com.au. My understanding is all aviators are welcome.
  7. Hi Bill, I'm not one of the organisers. Just thought it was worth sharing here. Love to catch up with some of you if you're going to be there. Looks like being a fun friendly event. No high ticket prices.
  8. The website has just been updated to show the date on the front page of the website http://ausfly.com.au/ .
  9. I've already let them know that the dates need to be more obvious. But as in my reply above they are the 18th - 21st October.
  10. 18th - 21st October. Click on the link above and all should be clear :) It is going to be informal, and no I don't think RAA will be pulling the strings.
  11. Hopefully see some of you at Narromine .. AusFly 2018 – All Aviators Under One Sky!
  12. More revision and currency is good. And absolutely nothing wrong with going around - EVER. I fly most weeks. If for some reason I don't fly for a few weeks I notice the difference. So don't feel bad about it, just accept you need to get up to speed again and then I'm sure you'll blitz your flight test.
  13. I've just bought one. No they don't take the place legally instead of an EPIRB. But think will be really useful. The SPOT's work when there is no cellular coverage so a major plus.
  14. Hmm I'm biased but perhaps look for an RV, the one we went in is an RV-9A, the quickbuild RV-12's seem to go together fairly fast and can be RAAus registered.
  15. Yep, we had a great time. We'll definitely go again. Cheers, D'
  16. Wow NT5224 Well Done!! You and your wife seriously did good! Thank you for sharing this with us. We can all always learn.
  17. Obstacle fixation is a term I'm familiar with. When you think I must avoid xyz, and find yourself steering towards xyz ...
  18. I use multifocal 30 day contacts. Let' m re fine print, and let' me see distance clearly as well. Much better peripheral vision that I had with glasses.
  19. Bought my RV-6A in Jandakot some years back. No shade and by the time we got the plane back to Moorabbin I felt like a pickled lobster. First thing I did when we got back was order a Koger Sunshade. My partner's RV-9A started flying in May this year and by the time we finished the test flying the sunshade was on it's way ....
  20. You weren't whinging. I think the reason moorabbin students are going elsewhere for circuits are the lengthy start up delays. And that was before the current lighting maintenance Ian crane issues seeing some YMMB runways closed.
