  1. What is this graph/chart telling us ??? .
  2. "Fastest" ? ...Dunno'bout that, though certainly a 'market' for solar/wind power in India. There's some very smart people in India which is probably why a lot of computer and science work is done for lazy westerners in India. And why is costly and unreliable solar/wind being developed in India, i.e., who's paying for it ?... "...two new financial initiatives were announced by the World Bank– the third tranche of the BioCarbon Fund and the Carbon Initiative for Development. The mission is to help the least-developed countries to get access to finance for low-carbon investments and help them tap into carbon markets....." World Bank Funding – Overview of World Bank Funding Sources ...India is into the carbon trading scam.....and where is the money coming from? certainly not them smart Indians. Meanwhile, back with the real and reliable power of India... "As part of the Prime Minister’s flagship Make in India project, Indian Railways is all set to induct the first high-speed electric locomotive to its list of transport vehicles. The 12,000 horsepower high-speed electric locomotive... ..The high horsepower locos will be pressed into service as freight trains. It will be used to transport coal and iron ore..." India’s first high-speed electric locomotive to be launched; here’s all you need to know And to run those new coal carrying trains India is set to double its rail network... "...In order to make coal transportation through railways more robust, the government is working on a number of plans such as advance rake-booking, wagon owning and doubling of railway lines..." Railway ministry poised to improve coal transportation, says Piyush Goyal .
  3. Yes. Burning animal dung to cook the evening meal in a small room is bad for anyone's health. 250 million Indians still don't have access to the clean living supplied by coal power. .
  4. Media reports that three local schools were nearly hit by the wildly veering aircraft... .
  5. If the GPS signal is being blocked what do civvy aircraft use to navigate ?.
  6. I already linked to that in post 111 - A not so dead stranded asset: India chooses more coal, cancels 57 nuclear plants. « JoNova India is ramping up coal power.. .
  7. It's a Russian prang so we'll never see any sort of official report on it so I'll offer some 'average pilot' musings... I'm not familiar with the aircraft type though looking at the size of the propellor i'm guessing it is fairly low horsepower. i.e., not much engine energy reserve. As the old instructor told me years ago, energy reserve is what makes flight possible and is either height, speed, or extra horsepower. Having all three cards up your sleeve is happy days. When the subject aircraft went past the ground observers it looked to me as though there were a rapid elevator control input (sudden jerk of controls) to establish climb. I'd suggest that would extract a high drag reduction from the speed energy reserve. The subsequent turn after clearing the trees would put a further drag induced drain on the energy reserve. Why the aircraft ultimately spun in... ? Sometimes the obvious is not the answer. Perhaps the pilot had an unknown heart condition. The sudden positive G's followed by the low G's clearing the trees, then followed by the turning G's may have caused a brief blackout... .
  8. What is it you don't believe ? Irans drone programme has been well documented via multiple sources. Practically every week there is a comment from one or other iranian minister/cleric about how they will destroy Israel. Here's something about drones from Irans own military back in 2013... Just love that comment - "...industrial jihad..." From Al jazeera... "...a US F-15 aircraft, flying over Syrian territory, fired on the drone after it displayed hostile intent and advanced on coalition forces. Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff Davis said ... it was armed..." US shoots down 'Iranian-made' drone in Syria .
  9. Look at all them radiators between the engines and fuselage. A very large target area for that one stray rifle bullet fired from the ground... The close fitting engine cowls do look nice though. .
  10. The latest bomb carrying terrorist drone confirmed... "...Two months after an Israeli Apache helicopter shot down an Iranian drone dispatched from Syria, ... Israel’s military censors on Friday finally allowed local media to report that the drone was not merely taking surveillance footage, but was carrying explosives and was primed to attack and damage an unspecified target somewhere in Israel..." Attack drone revelation shows grave, immediate, adjacent threat to Israel: Iran Israel, and the world, has a big problem. Very hard to combat bomb carrying drones worth a few hundred dollars with defensive weapons costing 10's of thousands of dollars. Eventually the defenders go broke. Somebody has been proactive in stoping the terrorist drones at their source. In 2016 terrorist drone 'expert' Mohamed al-Zawi were assassinated in Tunisia. And just recently another terrorist drone 'expert', Fadi al-Batsh, were assassinated in Malaysia. Hamas blames Israel for killing its drone expert in Tunisia, vows revenge Hamas threatens revenge against Israel for killing of drone and rocket expert Of concern to Australia is the terrorist drone designer that has been living just north of Oz for the last 10 years. How many Malaysian bomb-drone building experts have been educated by Fadi al-Batsh in the last 10 years ? .

  12. For those who enjoy a bit of research. How many steps to find the financial connection between Pprune and these Oz wind farms... "Acciona Energy has three wind farms in service in Australia with a total capacity of 302.5 MW. The biggest is Waubra (192 MW), equipped with ACCIONA Windpower turbines. In 2014, ACCIONA Energía built the Royalla photovoltaic plant (24 MWp) for FRV. It was the biggest in the country at the time, and is located near Canberra (TCA). The company is currently building the 132-MW Mt. Gellibrand Wind Farm in Victoria, after having awarded a tender of renewable energy certificates organized by the Victoria's Government..." ACCIONA Energía en Australia
  13. Of interest. The Pprunne forum is ultimately owned by a company that also has an interest in wind turbines in Australia...
  14. Yep, years ago I put a ProNav 100 GPS (Garmin 100) in me ultralight and had the VH drivers looking in wonder at the thing. For a short time I were the only light aircraft about with one of them newfangled GPS thingys. Easy to do when your not worried about certification or radio tech costs. .
  15. Heh, yer still need a back up coal/diesel/gas power plant for when the wind don't blow... I see India is ramping up its coal power plants.. A not so dead stranded asset: India chooses more coal, cancels 57 nuclear plants. « JoNova And with the thread subject... "wind power creates a whole raft of wholly unnecessary risks to life and limb, not least for pilots and their passengers" Fighting for Air: Communities Rally to Stop Wind Projects Wrecking Local Airports
