i ended up finishing my rpc at tooradin. just waiting on the weather for my flight test now.
fantastic instructor ian, has been there for a long time, i finally found someone who wasn't hour building.
so there you go turbo , he is still going strong.
Yes, this is the first of 3 that I have had this happen . I think the pump is higher pressure than the last 2.
Anyway you hit the nail on the head. Thanks for that.
You were right. Ran the pump for a while yesterday with the engine off and it was fine. No flooding.
Gives me confidence I can run the pump in takeoff now. Just not at idle.
i remember a gas turbine backup generator on a minesite, somewhere in the goldfields. they had to make a tunnel of scrub in front of it with sprinklers , like a coolgardie safe.
apparently it would not work properly with 45 deg heat going into the intake.
i hope this doesn't start another 7 page argument but yesterday i actually read the form i have to sign for flying solo.
there is a section at the bottom which says any pilot hiring the aircraft for solo training or personal use is liable for repairs or insurance
excess if the pilot is found to be at fault for any damage to the aircraft
Yes. I thought of that after I posted it. Trouble is in an xair the fuel pump is between the seats , anything I add in front of it would have to be in the cockpit .
2 strokes don't use the vapour lock return system because they are not affected by vapour. Good suggestion but fitting the correct pump is the way to go. Thruster has supplied the facet model number so it will be an easy job.
Mine only floods on the electric pump if left too long at idle. 2000 rpm in my case. I don't have a pressure gauge but I think the pump might be a 6 psi . I will buy the facet model you mentioned above and fit that.
