  1. my doctor said my bmi would be perfect if i was 9ft 6 tall
  2. like yachtys, the winds free so everything else should be.
  3. i have a vf ss and its one of the best cars i have ever had. never a problem with it. son has the same with a walkinshaw upgrade. daughter has a ve sv6. all good reliable cars. and we had fords for years. love them too. ba gtp, ba xr8 and a bf gt, fantastic cars but the boss motors don't last like an ls chev.
  4. it amazes me how much freedom these designers were given back then. so many strange aircraft were built
  5. they don't use any ducting. probably don't need it up there. the 912 cooling system is pretty good. you can lose all the coolant and fly home with reduced throttle. the cylinder fins dissipate enough heat to prevent damage to the heads.
  6. you would think they would be an extremely safe machine. looks like a drifter on steroids.
  7. don't know, i just pinched the image off google
  8. aircams have 2 912 rotax with no cowlings. built for flying over jungle. that would mean it really is tiger country.
  9. its not drifting badly at all. its interesting reading.
  10. have you watched the video. mike patey gives a good account of what happened and he is now trying to find out what caused it. he said himself that a failure like that is unheard of in a pratt and whitney turbine. the engine was secondhand so he is thinking something happened earlier in its life. like incorrect starting procedures. i think that plane is the world speed record holder for a single prop .
  11. he said the cowl was on order and hadn't arrived yet. you might have heard that if it wasn't muted😁. in the xair or thruster you have a pair of bing 54 s above the windscreen with no cowling.
  12. Got one of those in reach of my left hand.
  13. There are thruster t600 s. Xairs. Drifters .gyros. trikes. That have uncowled 912 engines.
  14. mike patey gives a good run down on his engine exploding on the way to oshkosh
  15. Great post nev. I understand what you were getting at now.
  16. its a single seat kit plane. i am pretty sure he wasn't comparing it to a commercial airliner when he purchased it.
  17. thanks ibob. the xair has a good icom radio and new headsets. definately need to get a sky echo i think.
