    The original Cheetahs had cloth covered wings and the later SIERRA was all metal and was optioned with 3300. You should call Ray and ask. I have flown the 3300 Sierra and is a good performer.

    You are very correct ! But facts are facts and the fact is Sling have made an error in measurement ! The aircraft weight is under some concern and the plane was not lined up on final and was a definite bad approach ! All of these things may not have been the actual cause but an accident is usually several things that go or put wrong and it seems to me the plane itself is not the cause !

    Private farm strip near Gladstone NSW between Coffs and Port, 1km from town 20km from South West Rocks, Hat Head or Crescent Head, all flat country, easy cycle, plenty of national parks and can camp on site here. Only for experienced pilots due some obstacles, 800m grass,

    I'm fairly certain that if you or the aircraft don't comply with regulations insurance won't pay and after this read I'm fairly sure several regulation weren't quite right ! interesting report and very valuable this one !

    Dear mr Ramjet, on your avatar it says you sometimes land hard ! I hope this is a joke because bad landings are not acceptable and everyone should strive for perfect landings or go around ! Don't drop it on ! Seriouslely it could be your problem ! Seen people do crap landings and smile saying " how's that " answer is " are you serious ! That was bad "

    I can't believe he could not see the other aircraft, let alone radio broadcast ! This scares me from ever going flying again to think someone could not see the other aircraft on an approach like that ! Amazing and very sad ! Watched it many times and cant believe he could not see the other plane ahead !

    Casa are EXPERTS and Have successfully stamped out aviation manufacture to a minimum in this country ! a TRUE DISGRACE and the GENIUS PEOPLE who done all this are still at CASA except for the Director and they just keep coming and going as the rest run wild with their antics !

    Thanks Yiannis, keep telling about your progress, very interested. I'm currently doing my float endorsement on a Cessna 182 with straight floats, was flying last week and will finish today hopefully, it is a lot of fun.

    Hi Yiannis, what sort of floats are you using, sorry if you mentioned it already but I just scanned you posts quickly and got excited as I love amphibian aircraft and I am a fan of savannahs ! Cheers Ross.

    Correct me if I'm wrong ! Firstly it said aircraft over the 600 kg would have to be L4 maintained if used for hire or training, so most schools will not go there unless already a GA school so why bother going on RAA rego, no advantage in fact more expensive ! I only see people that want to bring their GA plane over for self maintenance and the big one I see is when some one builds a light GA plane in experimental catorgory and sells it the new owner can not maintain and he or she may choose to come to RAA so they can do owner maintenance ! Most LAME's don't like working on home builds and I don't blame them as it could be a problem !

    The knob doesn't unscrew easy as it is part of the vernier adjusting, anyhow an angle grinder will fix most anti theift device ! I did it to satisfy the imbeciles that make rules, I never laughed so much when a group of us had Casa officials looking at our GA planes all fitted with cabin covers and all had the notice that Anti Thief Device fitted and the Casa people wanted to take the covers off but they had no authority to touch and we watched and laughed at their predicament ! All were fitted and we had nothing to hide but they had no authority to remove or force us to remove, was way too funny ! Was when rule first implemented and they wanted to fine people ! Haha ! We were also having a BBQ and drinking, not in any state to play with aeroplanes !

    On my Sportstar I had a u piece over shaft of throttle with a padlock though bottom half, very simple and effective.

    I only use 95, as I have had problems with 98 and it has left contamination in the float bowl of a stationary engine I used it in ! I would inspect in float bowls for any contamination, it is like a varnish appearance ! I definitely would not use 98 Ron ! I'm told that 95 does not have additives but 98 does have additives to boost octane rating so correct me if I'm wrong on this !
