    Yes, I have flown into Cardiff a couple of times and though they do now require a flight plan there are no other requirements I can remember.

    Presumably only if it's a XC flight and not just circuits at the airfield you have been training at that didnt previously require one up to that point?

    Looking to do a Panel refit in a few months time and been looking at the Kanardia gauges, specifically the ASI, Altmeter and the Horis. Anyone got experience of them?, there are a couple of aircraft at my field whose owners have given positive reviews.

    Me too, I'm looking forward to the fly-camp season this year, I havnt done any decent adventures since covid as changes of aircraft, moving house etc have got in the way.

    I have a DC headset that I had converted by ANR Man https://www.anrman.co.uk/ He uses one of the conversion kits. As I never did the conversion myself I can't comment on its fitting but in use I would say the Noise reduction is 80%-90% as good as the Bose A20 headset I also have. It also has the advantage that if the battery runs out then the passive noise reduction on the DC is far better than the Bose A20. When the battery runs out on the A20 its horrible

    I've only 1 single hour of tuition in an R22, but was told by the instructor that you have literally a second or so to drop the collective on an engine out in the R22, the rotor inertia being so low. Apparently the R44 is a little more forgiving Coincidently I was watching an R44 doing practice autorotations today at Berrow and it all looked quite relaxed, but of course thats no indication of what was going on in the cockpit

    I flew into Berrow today, a grass strip at the southern tip of the Malvern Hills. This was parked up and being readied for flight. an Early Lynx Helicopter one of I believe 2 on the UK Civil register, the Lynx once held the world speed record for helicopters due in large part to its Rotor design with the B.E.R.P. tips a feature much copied since.

    I'm pretty sure there has been plenty of time and space given to white male able bodied heterosexual aviators so don't feel particularly concerned that those outside that sphere get some recognition In the interests of full disclosure I am a white male heterosexual, though the able bodied bit might be a a stretch these days😁

    Maybe the Dynon instrument itself has a problem (vibration/heat buildup?) I'm chasing multiple problems with an MGL unit right now and its a nightmare.

    I previously spent a lot of time rebuilding and tuning Motorcycle and mountain bike suspension, I used bottled Nitrogen to recharge units that used the gas instead of a coil spring. Mainly used as its inert so wont encourage internal corrosion Air is about 3/4 Nitrogen anyway, but its the oxygen that causes strife. I've always thought that Oxygen is some sort of dark joke from the big guy, we need it to stay alive but its slowly killing us🤪

    Yes, I think these cases had more to do with the large risks involved in particular cases rather than concluding ownership of airspace in any event.

    Nice video *though the missing cowl fastener hurts my OCD. I notice it uses the original style undercarriage legs together with the larger tyres, I was told that this wouldnt be allowable in the UK and you would have to fit the 600kg upgrade legs at great cost....Hmm P.S. It also has what looks like a rather large gap seal at the flap/wing junction that I've never seen before, interesting I've only skimmed the vid as I need to go work I'll have a proper look/listen later.

    Looking good BA. There are quite a few 600kg Nynjas over here now and the owners seem well pleased with them. I'm staying with the 472kg limit as I rarely fly with a passenger and rarely end up unable to get fuel. A pair of jerry cans in place of a passenger are carried when needed. Be interesting to read what your ZFW ends up as.

    I'm in the UK so can't comment on your magazine but if its any consolation ... The BMAA are very good at the stuff that matters, but do insist on its members paying for a magazine that imo has always been of little interest I know the arguement about it being up to the members to make content, but Id rather have some professional tech content not the usual member's account of their last trip to wherever. (to me Its like someone insisting showing their holiday snaps ...zzzz) I am after all paying for it. It gets a quick skim then in the bin it goes. Really wastefull I have no idea if my view is representative, but its mine🙃
