Well said TOSGcentral and the latest the idiots have come up with is the transition of our pilots certificate card into a club membership instead. I did,nt start flying to join a fucking club i,m already a member of three others and could,nt give a rats arse for their new (club) membership, this is discrace and absolute proof positive of how they regard us and are not even on the same book let alone on the same page as the pilots. Reinstate the only reason we are asociated with RAA (the pilot certificate endorsement card.

HAT hight above terain for uhf transmitions formula is twice the height in feet squared expressed in miles ie 5000' x 2 = 10,000' squared = 100 miles

No one other than an American (looks up to America) at least no one that can read or see that is, they,ve never been better than any other people their was just more of them and they never stopped their military expenditure since WW2 and still have around 27% of uni graduates either going into the military or weapons and defence conected companys. I look down not up on that society. But they make nice cubs eh.
-
G,day Greg, bearing in mind your experience, needs, intensions, finances and above all location, i would suggest you start at the start either in a standard J3 cub or finance wise, buy a good used GT 500 to train in and upgrade when experienced, just my biased opinion eh, cheers

And what a unique noise it made too. Near impossible to determine the origine except by guessing eh.

You only have to compare the varoius western countrys health systems to get a very good insight into how their citizens are regarded and treated and american pharmaceutical companies are flatout terrified of our own PBS system for its cost slashing ability for those in need of prescription medication.
-
Sounds like a great idea again farri, with a little luck I may have my GT 500 back on line by then and could fly her instead of my storch for it which would be more open air like eh.

The Trail Bike goes to the Crater of the Tweed Volcano
Hargraves replied to JG3's topic in Trips/Events/Seats
Yes, that would be a pain for sure, and counter to the concept of not requiring or even wishing to bother or rely on anyone, but it still leaves the alternatives of underwing camping for anything other than overnight, way behind i,m sure John. Keep on trucking sir and I look forward to meeting up on the road sometime, cheers Mick -

Another excellent travelogue John you are an inspiration sir. Can,t wait to get my 500 transporter finished and on the road, thanks for a great presentation, cheers Mick -
Well said onetrack I can agree with nearly all of your comments except that you left out the most important part , and that would be that you just described the standard american way of business and government, they don,t even look after their own people let alone others eh.

Approved Airband Hand Held Radios
Hargraves replied to WayneL's topic in Instruments, Radios and Electronics
Marconi electronics and AWA Australia were world leaders in radio telemetry in the early days and set very high standards for the rest to follow. I think it possible that despite the fact that here at home it was not backed or funded much at all by goverments and consequently languished and fell behind the others, coupled with successive leaders abrigation of responsibility in favor of (contractors) like CASA that their still exists an illusion of elitism on the subject amongst some of those contractor types hence the differance. Just my impressions cheers Hargraves -

Approved Airband Hand Held Radios
Hargraves replied to WayneL's topic in Instruments, Radios and Electronics
G,day Kyle, your right mate, by the spec,s of the detector model i,m thinking of and having been a pax in a vehicle driving past active static and mobile tax units while it was working i,m convinced its sheilded against the so called road safety radar which is only a revinue raising government tax after all eh. Cheers Mick -
Why would,nt a group of nationalists being observed and bombed by drones retaliate in kind regardless of who they are, thats how it works, and i wonder why theirs zero publicity about ECM r&d on drones, as any coms block is as good as a shoot down, cheers Hargraves

Ground transport for those remote strips?
Hargraves replied to Marty_d's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Hi spacesailer, its borrowed from "released on your own recognense" as in a magistrate to a discharged person, which I take to mean responsible for your self only. -
Thanks for this great article Phil, i was totally in the dark regarding this wonderfull mark and its capabilities, please keep up the excellent information flow regarding this and any (probably many) other not so well known aspects of aviation and naval history, "well done those men" cheers Hargraves

Ground transport for those remote strips?
Hargraves replied to Marty_d's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
My knees are talking to me after a couple of hours of flying much less the tourture this fine device would put them to acting as shock absorbers on our tracks and roads. The problems encountered in our two seater touring can really only be overcome by your own reliable support vehicle towing your own enclosed aircraft transporter / accomidation trailer with an emergency / getabout lightweight moter scooter or bike. While hospitality and making friends when touring is one of the most wecome and enjoyable parts of the experience. Not having to rely on it at most places we want to visit is a much better and probably more appreciated way to go I think anyway. PS my trailers name is Recognense (as in on my own)
