  1. In my case , it was the only tree around Believe it or not there is an airstrip 100 mts behind the reck , when you loose control 30 ft agl and are banking to the left you don't get any choice ! Just like an engine failure. Any they say any landing you walk away from !!!! I wouldn't say these were good ones Mike . I to am glad he walked away , and yes I to am sick of seeing these to , especially when they happen to you

  7. Being strong , rigid , and impact absorbing strength are not the same thing . My seat was all fractured , took the crash load evenly The jabs have 4 in foam under the seats . Cert. requirements . I can speak from Experiance that this works
  8. I thought it might be a bit toxic , otherwise it would still be readily available and used , Any chemists out there could make a non toxic version ? Cheers Mike
  9. It's called quick metal , used to bend soft metal pipes , Don't know a lot about it , or what it's made from , Tried to google it , 0 metal , zero metal, There's one site that goes to doc . For bending brass tube . Maybee some one can look a bit further into it , would be good for bending Alum. Pipe
  10. That's what I mean about idiot proof . Didn't your father tell you , that the worlds full of idiots ?
  11. My public liability insurance for the airstrip requires any plane landing to sign a waiver , But I recon that if a signed waiver is all you need , why do you need insurance ? I really don't think the waiver is worth any thing . All Ican do is make the airstrip as safe as possible , IE . Check it out before aircraft land , wind sock ect . Good approaches ,no landing in wind over 20knts , but nothing is idiot proof . I'm now reluctant to take passengers unless they are really keen and understand the risks. Mike
  12. I thought you could fly on the reciept , No , I don't mean a paper plane ! Not a bad idea though ! Mike
  13. Andy , Apple TV , lie on the couch , watch how big your screen is then . Not that I have it , but it's tempting with 100inch tv available , got a spare $ 9000.00 It will be holographic projection next , Imagine the forum potential then , we would be able to belt each other over the head with a virtual base ball bat !! Cheers Mike :

I only use I phone and not a desk top For what it's worth I did and still do all my oversea ordering , international banking ,local banking , pay all my accounts & bills Emails , Skype ,eBay ,os runways and occasionally use it as a phone , any ware , any time , Blue tooth in car & plane ,google maps, & the list goes on ,and I'm not stuck in front of a screen putting on weight ! Cheers an no offense intended .Mike Although I wouldn't want to loose it !

  16. There used to be one about half way down the road to emu park , and a grass strip at emu park , that was about 12 ish years ago I was there I don't know if there still open . Mike
  17. That applied to your early SK because later versions of the same design were found ,after testing to meet a higher design loading The aircraft now ,have well tested and established load ratings and could not be changed that easy without modification ,and then more testing $$$ Mike
  18. Depends how the jabiruis registered . VH 700kg or max design weight RAA Aus 600kg. Ditto Doesn't mater who owns the aircraft , The design weight limit has nothing to do with the owner , if you sell or buy , doesn't matter . Cheers Mike
  19. If the design says 700kg MTOW , Then that's the safe limit , Nothing to do with the legal side of things . I don't know to many people that weigh their aircraft each flight
  20. You had us all fooled Steve . It just needed a commer after compassion and a full stop at the end . Mike
  21. I was under the impression that Raa does cover the passenger ,and the warning in the cockpit about flying in this aircraft at your pun risk. Steve , don't worry to much about it , I think if push comes to shuv , you'll be fine . Anyway the courts seem to be looking at this type of activity is hazardous , Passengers , mates , fly at their own risk Mike
