  1. Keep your chin up mate. Get well soon! Rgds Planey
  2. We should all have dreams and aims in life to work towards, and strive to overcome any problems along the way. Good luck young fellah, hope you mange to fulfill your ambitions.
  3. That looks pretty good to me mate, even if you'd prefer something different! Good braking system and black-box easy to find if things don't go as planned. I am well aware of the drawbacks caused by a few extra Birthdays, but at least you'll be there, and I won't. Have great day which I'm sure you will, and don't forget to post a few piccies. Kind Rgds Planey
  4. Welcome Simon. As Nightmare has already said, if you are not sure of your intentions, just book yourself a trial instruction flight. It normally only goes for about half an hour or so and won't break the bank, and will either tell you that it's not for you, or most likely why the hell didn't I do this before. Then once decided, you can plan ahead at your own pace. A Birthday gift of a T.I.F. is a great idea, tell the family.
  5. Welcome duane. Sounds like you have a lot of building experience now. Is it that you like building, or does the misses encourage you to build another one so you don't get under her feet? When you get a chance, post a few photos of your handywork, we love to see them. Rgds Planey
  6. A lot of clever guys at Wedderburn, looks like some design hats too!
  7. Be hard not to have Marty. The speed and accuracy of fabrication is amazing.
  8. We learn something every day Mick. If you were Irish, the rag would need a knot in each corner. PS Not seen any of your wonderful r/c models lately.
  9. Looks Brilliant! I think our mate Marty from Tassie needs a holiday over your way, but that may spoil his fun. I admire what he's achieving as well.
  10. Rumor has it that Pilot Shop which always has our interests at heart, may be considering stocking protective- headware for the benefit of those who fly low wing aircraft in Aussie summer conditions, to keep that burning sun at bay. If popular, a wide range could be available The "Sportstar Special". (also available in pink) or, For The Bonanza set, there's "The Gatsby" to look real cool! 50+ block-out also to be available for the less fashion conscious?
  11. , good to hear from you, tell us more. If you own an Auster, we'd love to hear more about it, and it's owner.
  12. WOW! that looks intriguing, but we all know that you enjoy keeping us in suspense, or wondering whether you'll ever be fitting coil-overs to keep it flat in a ground-loop situation.
  13. Good on you Bex, that's really starting to look good mate. Do you have any projections of what the finished product will possibly look like? Rgds Planey
  14. Think he's going back down the ladder and gonna do it in the morning, because they are a couple of bums short on the seats to make the flight profitable enough.
  15. Be patient guys, someone gave him a tin of Eclipse mints, you know, those blue one's. He's probably a bit confused, and thinks they are something a lot more more exciting!
  16. Yea, but it's something to think about on a hot sleepless night!
  17. Can I park my car in the shade of your tree's Spacesaver please. I could do with a newie?
  18. whinges, but no malice intended. meanwhile, did storchy ever tell you how well his storch ran on avgas and H2O. That's no Bull, Bull, I have a photo of him topping it up before escaping Narrow Mine in inclement weather. Can't beat those rotary axes.
  19. There's an old saying something along the lines of "put your money where your mouth is if you have something worthwhile to offer'. In other words, please be a more specific. Inuendo's don't normally achieve much, other than to stir a few people up. We all really appreciate something constructive to help us be safer.
  20. Even my mother-in law fly's one of those, (broomsticks) but the bucket of fun got lost in transit somewhere:ecstatic:
  21. Very sad outcome, especially on Australia Day when most people are supposed to be happy and enjoying themselves. RIP to those on board, and heartfelt thoughts for family and friends close to them.
  22. British Airways Airbus A318 flies over the heart of London to land at London City Airport from JFK. I reckon the runway U-turn is the most spectacular part! This is a fascinating insight into how BA manages to provide this service. For those not in the know, the BA 318 leaves London City bound for New York JFK via Ireland. She tech stops in Ireland for fuel but the passengers clear customs and immigration at this point to utilise the fuelling time. It therefore lands in the US as a domestic flight and passengers are through the airport in minutes.
