And grow it will. Options and plans are being formulated among the caretaker team about how the forum will be progressed. The basic forum rules, and those of common courtesy, will still apply with regard to moderation of content but with an increased emphasis toward transparency in why the intervention was deemed necessary. How we go about doing this is still a work in progress. Ok, here's the skinny. There were two threads with a similar topic. Both got nasty with insults being traded. As informative contributions were contained within the threads they were merged and messages that contained insults or bickering were removed. Continuity of the thread is difficult to restore without altering the content of some posts and as people do not like the content of their posts being altered ( and that's fair enough), if a part of the post breeches forum rules or etiquette, the whole post is deleted. If people want to push the limits to see what they can get away with, they're going to find what that limit is eventually....

Yeah, it makes it difficult when it's the boss's PC. It's probably been set up to clear the internet cache on exit. That may explain the lag as it would have to download the smilies every session. (no smilies used in this post just for you Ome. ;) )

Is your browser set to have some cache OME?

That's been my take on it. I'd rather click a 'like' button than post "yeah, wot he/she said." The smilies that have gone AWOL is going to be an issue though...

Tubz, there were 23 posts removed. I assure you they were only removed as they were not really relevant to the incident. Yeah, sure. The jokes were funny, to us, but they were considered hurtful to persons more closely involved in the incident. The Pprune items went bye bye as if that's the way the posters over there wish to present themselves, so be it. This forum isn't that place. Cheers!

The removed posts were a handful of ferris wheel jokes and references to a thread on the so called professional pilots forum. But hey, let's not let that get in the way of a good conspiracy theory!
