  3. Hi John, our fuse was for a 3300, but we are a wider fuse (1200 inside cockpit) this in turn made our firewall 75mm longer (2x100kilo pax) as for w&b our UL is 76 kilo same as the Jab 3300 so no problems there and lots of GRUNT cheers gareth

  6. Gday Friar sounds like a good idea ,evans head field is to be turned into an air park but the cost is ,wait for it approx $ 160,000 for building lot hanger /house plus ongoing fees , if enough interested flyers could band together it could work, finding a suitable site that is in easy reach is one obsticle , airfields are becoming harder to find cheers gareth

  9. Hi Peter yes we did but the time it would have taken to order and get it here would have meant that 3 months from time of order and was only 116 hp ( i think )and we are more in control of an engine in oz money wise cheers gareth

  12. Hi David they quote full power 130hp =3300 rpm cruise 2800 to 2500 with corresponding fuel burn 26 ltres and 19 ltres as per the ul site cheers gareth
  13. Hi Damkia They have used them in corvus planes , there was a report that it didnt come up to required hp ,but i read that they have fixed that problem ie 140 hrs on a test bed at full revs not long before it arrives and it is in Cheers gareth:spot on:
  14. HI pete that was my post about the 130 hp ul ,we have just put a deposit on 1 from Vic supplier ,cost approx 30,000 with everything included ,new out of box , low reving engine 330 max (rotax 5600,viking 5400,corvair 3300) these are the only engines that we considered .the ul is fuel injected ,no carb ie no ice ,ecu,s control x 2, fuel burn who cares ,fuel is the cheapest cost of the plane ,we are building a Morgan Sierra and this power plant suits it, as for relyability we cannot find any problems so far in Europe or USA cheers gareth
  15. Hi Maj it really concerns me that we the Flying public are never told , unless its a fatality (and this ulimatily goes to the coroner ) we can not make an informed judgement planes that have engines out and an accident occurs are NEVER investigated unless there is a fatality/fatalities, in the last 6 weeks 2 plane engines out ,the acceptance of many flyers is that ,oh well it happens, carry on regardless .We should not accept this I myself am still learning and find that the atitudes of some of the flying fraternity is woeful RAA should have an input to us as members so that as you say we can all learn and be better prepared I support you in your endeavours to get some answers Cheers gareth
  16. we chose the UL 130 hp over ALL the other engines ! cheers gareth:plane:
