  2. Hello Grey83 ..........
  3. Have you had a discussion with all of your neighbours?...Regardless of what the law states, it will be extremely dfficult for you to fly from there, if you don`t have a good relationship with your neighbours. Frank.
  4. Goodonya, scre! I hope you have many safe and joyful flights, I`ve just got back from a very pleasant flight in my Drifter...Don`t forget to stop in and say G`Day, if you get up to the Cairns area of Nth Qld. Frank.
  5. Hello There, to you Simon! ...What do you intend flying? Frank.
  6. From Left, Ryan, Jonas, Delia and Nico, backpacking Australia...... Unfortunately, the weather didn`t want to play the game today and only Delia, got to fly, hopefully, Ryan, Jonas and Nico will get a fly tomorrow...Jonas has flown twice with me. Delia is from Spain! It was her first flight in an Ultralight!...Photo says it all! Frank.
  7. The simple fact is, like many things in the wrong hands, small planes are dangerous and in my opinion, there`s no benefit in trying to deny it, but I very much doubt that is the reason, young people are put off! Frank.
  8. G`Day David, You need the Grey wire that is part of the bundle of wires that come from the Stator Coil. Your Taco, should have two terminals! one goes to earth and the Grey wire goes to the other. Frank.

  10. Hi BP ...Goodonya! I`d love to be there, bit far away though......Biggest stumbling block is Liability and I sincerely hope you can be covered, but at what cost...You`ll most likely find that those who want to take part, won`t want to put some $$$ towards it, but if they do, it will then present other issues for you. The Devil is in the Fine Print. Frank.
  11. My Pleasure....Forgot to add I`m Franco (Frank)...Cheers.
  12. G`Day Jef Irick from Oak Ridge, ....
  13. My first attempt at flying was with a Wheeler Scout...I got it about three feet off the ground for about 100 mts and I was absolutely over the moon about it...Years later, I flew Jack Stewart`s Wheeler Scout a couple of times. Jack had his own way of testing if the wind was ok to fly the Scout, he`d take out his hanky, hold it at head height and let it go, if it landed within a certain distance, away he`d go...He was always happy to let anyone fly it and I recall an experienced pilot flying it up on the Atherton Tablelands and ending up in Lake Tinaroo with it...He was injured and very lucky to have survived. Thank you Ricard but I was asking about the one that SSCBD is sitting in...I flew the MX QuickSilver a couple of times... I`ve got a story about the MX also...A guy and his lady had an MX and they were trying to teach themselves to fly it but weren`t finding it easy! The lady had to go away for a while and gave the guy strict instructions not to touch the AC while she was away! The moment she was gone he jumped in it, got it off the ground and carried out a "Collision With Terrain", as they say! They re-built it but came to me to get their AUF certificate before successfully attempting to fly it. Jason, I recall being the first guy to give a CAA approved flying demonstration, in the Drifter, at an airshow at Donnington Airpark! Don`t recall the year though...Late eighties early nineties???...I do recall, on the day,a military helicopter landing too nose high after it`s display and hitting the ground with the main rotor. Frank
  14. How much pilot protection do you want?......Crash an Ultralight aircraft and the chance of survival is very slim, regardless of pilot protection. Frank.
  15. Hi Alan, In case you`re not aware. CIVIL AVIATION REGULATIONS 1988 - REG 256A Carriage of animals
  16. Blood pressure is fine but I don`t know if to laugh or cry at the prospect of it! Exactly why I haven`t posted my rant on the subject! WOW!!!! Will a decent coffee machine with real coffee, give me more enjoyment? Frank, Ps, Thanks Guys!
  17. Reminded me of a guy ( passed away quit a few years ago ) way back in the mid eighties...He had a WB Drifter on floats and being a keen fisherman decided to fly to a reef, out from Tully Heads...Going out was ok but by the time he turned around to head back a haze had set in and he couldn`t see the mainland...About half way back, he spotted a prawn trawler, landed close to it and asked for direction to Tully Heads. On another occasion, he`d put the Drifter on wheels, gone flying and was almost back to Tully Heads (had a house there) when he ran out of fuel, nothing but the Tully river and mangroves below him, fortunately, it was low tide so he put it down in the river, in a couple of feet of water, a guy in tinny saw him come down and picked him up...No injury to the pilot or Drifter...Pilot went back with his boat and retrieved the Drifter... Both true stories. Frank
  18. I`ve already been told a couple of times on this thread, everything is in place to just go out and do it! Frank.
  19. No flying today due to heavy rain....Yesterday was the perfect day to do some boating so I decided to take Jonas out to the Frankland Islands to do some snorkeling, bush walking and rock climbing ... Truly great day. Frank
