    Mark, I think you would want to buy a Searey a lot cheaper than $69k Mark if you are going to get them from the states, it will owe you a lot of money by the time you land it here. We have 2 for sale here in our magazines in the classifieds section and I think one is selling for $67k and the other around $77k approx, so why would you go overseas if you can buy one here for a similar price. If you buy here you can get it checked out before you buy and you can test fly it etc, so I am thinking the most I would pay is 45 to 50 k (from the US) and it would have to be late model LSA with the "C" hull, 914 Rotex and all the extra things that you get on them. With Searey's now being factory built I have noticed more of the home built ones being advertised in the US, I think they will become cheaper as more yanks buy factory built ones. I am going to hold off for a while and see how it goes over there, I think if we wait a while we will get some very good buys soon. or if you really want one buy one, buy one of the one's here for sale. David

    If we get the right team together maybe then they could handle something as important at investigating accidents, they are having problems handling the normal running of the organisation right now let alone if they had to investigate accidents too..how much could that cost the membership if that was mis handled in money and prestige? David

    Yes for sure, I would want my own, it would be well worth spending the extra money, I wouldn't want my pride and joy getting smashed around by someone's dirty old car or bike parts.. David

    Well as far as I am concerned, the recent meeting was in the ACT, then we will have Natfly, all down south, I would like to see the next major meeting up here in QLD somewhere...

    There are some Aussie companies here that I think may be able to do a good job of loading and transporting your plane safely from the USA, I have seen them in a couple of the aircraft magazines. David

    I definately think that if the membership can not supply suitably qualified personal to run our business effectively then YES lets change the constitution to allow non members be employed, why can't we give them membership automaticly if they are the successful applicant? David

    Well we all know there were multiple mistakes but what are we going to do..keep on complaining and whinging about the past, we can't change that now but we can help form the future and it has to be with the current exec group until the next lot of elections...so let's get on with it... David

    Well we are stuck with him for a while, so it looks like we will all have to put the knives away and try and work with the guy and his team. I think now it's time to move on and stop the fighting and bitching and work with the team we have, for better or worse.. the more we fight the more that we are pulling the whole association down into the mud...IMHO it's time that we move on and give these guys a second chance !!!!!

    So after the hundreds of threads about we need to get rid of this person and that person, nothing happened, except a general attitude from the board that we will do better...mmmm... probably because we all under estimated the support that they had and because everyone had to watch their P&Q's with the meeting being recorded and the legal eagle watching listening to what is said to whom and what was said to them.. So the ship has now been righted and is now sailing on an even keel again...woopieeeeeeee David

    So are the 40ish all of this type I am wondering? if not any idea of what the others are? David P.S Looking at some of these posts I am glad I didn't spend the time and money driving down to Canberra from Brisbane, doesn't sound like a lot was achieved.
