  1. Hi Frosty....thank you for that. Im not up with all the terms here so can you humour me and explain what a "ground plain" aerial is? Scotty
  2. Hi Bill...yes I have read that and was looking more for a brand that has worked well for anyone. My aircraft being mostly wood I hope will not be as prone as what these subjects were. Scotty
  3. Hi all...just a question...I have a Vertex Standard 220 and am wanting to utilise it in an aircraft. Is there any great advantage in mounting an aerial to the airframe? Will it improve range and if so what aerial should I be looking at? Scotty i_dunno
  4. I went in 2000 and 2002. magnificent! ...but I do believe it has been taken over by bean counters and the quality of the show is not what it use to be. Please tell me I am wrong when you get back. That part of the country is fantastic. Take warm clothes as there was snow on them there hills. Show is at the Airport with great displays of tractors, military and everything else mechanical. I can still hear the rumbling of all those Polikarpov flying over head! If I recall Cromwell is only about a half hour drive to Wanaka and Queenstown around an hour. I love Queenstown. Lunch at the Irish Pub looking over the lake! I use to sit there and ponder as to why no one had set up a float plane scenic company off that lake. Other than low cloud would be perfect. Wish I was going... Scotty

  15. Hi all......starting a Pietenpol Air Camper build with a Chevrolet Corvair conversion. I have the Corvair block here now and the plans are on the way. Can someone who has used the T88 Adhesive let me know if it has a use by time once opened? I am ordering it from the USA as I have not heard of a supplier here and want to order a reasonable amount but not if it goes off after opened. I know I have asked this question previously but does anyone have any contacts for Spruce here in Australia? I have a quote to get it from Aircraft Spruce in the USA but just want to exhaust all options here first. Scotty
  16. Hi Haydn....I was attending the Sidecar Speedway championships over the New year period. This was going back about 16 years ago when I was young and silly and hanging off the side of motor bikes seemed like a good idea! Stayed at the caravan park on the beach there at Gisbourne. Scotty

  18. If it runs for a while then stalls, is it a flooding problem? How long does it run for? What colour are the plugs? Is the fuel pump not producing enough pressure? If it has been sitting for a few years the pump may have packed it in? i_dunno Scotty
