  3. If you have the $$. I have my ipad mounted right next to efis, so no real need for me to think about that. Seems I don't have an appropriate pic to share. But if you want one, will see if I can get one.
  4. For a low cost EFIS, it is fantastic. If you want more integration and features, then expect to pay tons more $$.
  5. I don't use hsi page that much, more my backup if ozrunways iPad and phone stop working, and paper map lost!!
  6. I have heard about the limited TIF as well from our CFI for raaus. Has potential. I think the GFA has something similar with Air Experience Flights. For us, where I am a member and fly, we are a volunteer club, and instructing is not every day of the week, 2.5 days at most for raaus, gliding is a little different. We are more word of mouth for raaus, as we are after club members. We are also a gliding and raaus club, so we have instructors covering each type. And most instructors are retired and those who are not, it is a every second weekend thing or so. For me, it will be a 1/2 day every 2nd week. Understand those doing it for a day job, yes you have to make a profit to make it viable. I just want to see more people, and young people getting into aviation.
  7. Trained to the same standard. We do it as part of a club for the passion, but we do not advertise as we are a club at heart. Where was this question coming from?
  8. Always hard to please everyone!!!. Also know a few other recipients of the scholarships, all very grateful and has helped them to their aviation career / passion.
  9. I was a lucky recipient of a scholarship, and I can tell you that doing my instructor rating now is giving back to our club and new recreational aviation members where we are all volunteer instructors. With this assistance, it means we can continue to provide additional instructors for minimal cost.
  10. Good question to ask at members forum, as to the increase in hours flown
  11. Condolences, RIP. Can't believe there is another one. Make sure you all take your time and stay safe all
  12. Syndicate is the way to go!! Good luck and hope you manage to get one.
  13. But forgot to add, shhh don't tell my wife if i do!!, apparently 1 is enough!!!!
  14. If I had 280k to spend on an aircraft, as nice as this aircraft would be, I would likely buy 3 or 4 others, plus a hanger
  15. I just looked up a notification from last year, it was a week after an accident that RAAus sent out the notification of a serious accident.
  16. Has anyone received an email from RAAus about this? Last year they were emailing out a few days after fatal accidents
  17. I did just renew my membership, so that may be it.

Yes, similar in many other places.
  20. I bought an 19 registered in march, with a 912 UL engine, it has 470 hrs on it. Have done almost 100 hours in it, costing me around $30 to $40 hr to run. Well worth it for me. My rotax TBO is 1200, but it can be run on condition after that. But it will take me 6 years or so to get there!!. The early 80HP engines have been known to get well over 2000hrs, heard of one over 3000hrs, but need to be well maintained.
  21. I have to sit mine. Any recommendations? did you find the online training material informative enough?
