  1. It is a membership organisation, with not that many staff. It can likely be quicker if they have more staff, but that will cost the members more. Does anyone know the work load in the office?
  2. I have had no issues with my membership, BFR or aircraft renewal. Plus a few enquires to the tech team, responded in a few days. What was you question or issue over?
  3. I am at Gawler!!, if you are coming out that way ever, let me know.
  4. Well said. Before I bought the aircraft and before i flew it with the CFI, it was gone over completely by a Lame 2 / 4 to evaluate workmanship and airworthiness. Only when he signed it off did we fly it.
  5. When my CFI signed me off in my Zodiac, it was dual control except for brakes. He had no issues, but we have a long runway, ie 1200m, so plenty of room.
  6. You can’t as far as I know. For me, I had a CFI come up with me for some cross training. And regularly have an instructor friend come up with me.
  7. Hi Bruce, we have 2 J 170 aircraft with them at the gawler airfield, no issues at all. Have a look yourself, 7385 & 8538
  8. Looks great, not sure how it would fit a jabiru or my zodiac 601
  9. 5000 is better than the 4000 I heard somewhere, most raaus aircraft where I am fly 3500 or 4500, so good to cover that.
  10. Other suggestions, Broken Hill, Wentworth?
  11. I cancelled my trip, sad to miss out but considering was going to camp, I did not have the appropriate wet weather gear.
  12. I purchased a 2nd hand home built back in March, a Zodiac 601 HDS. Very happy with it, I had a LAME 2/4 go over it completely (He has also built a few himself too). But I would never buy it without someone who knows their stuff going over it.
  13. Are you looking at updating how to attach images?
  14. After using the AvMap EFIS for 4 months, very happy with it.
  15. I have a zodiac 601, but some also call it a zenith!!! or a zenith zodiac!!! I just settled on Zodiac as that is what all the build paperwork says.
  16. Taking a step back and looking at this, no matter if at the club or in a forum, discussions go the same way!!
  17. Which airfield do you fly out of? I fly out of YGAW (Gawler in SA), we have lots of glider traffic close to restricted airspace, so very much look and avoid. But we need to maintain appropriate minimal radio calls, to be safe but not to clog our freq.
  18. Hello and welcome, I learnt in a J170 too, have fun and remember, enjoy yourself when up there!!
  19. So my view is, it is all in the past, lets move on and focus on making this a great event. Hopefully many people can attend to make it a success. I will be trying my best to get there from SA, weather and wife depending (pretty sure I have a green light from the wife)
  20. I try to get out every week, even if it is for just 0.5hrs, which is usually 3 or 4 circuits. I am lucky as airfield is 10mins from home so sometimes I can do this before or after work. In those circuits I usually do - Cross Wind landing if possible - short field landing approach (If possible) and or side slip - Forced engine on downwind on last circuit. If I have more time, I fly out to the training area and practice my turns, ensuring they are co-ordinated and maybe do a forced landing practice out there too. And sometimes fly to a close by airfield to where they have a 600m strip on a slope, always a good challenging one. But remembering all the time, to enjoy yourself and flying!!
  21. 3 hours, such a difference!!, glad you could make it Matt and maybe we will see you somewhere else around the traps soon.
