  1. When I used area freq, air services tole me off and that I was on the wrong frequency.
  2. I need to as well, but travelling for work this week. Next week will see if I can match the 0.9 hrs or even beat it.
  3. RA Aus provided an update on a facebook live session around 3 weeks ago. You can see the video on the below link and they talk about it at the 16:55 part. Some other good stuff in there (CTA is just before MTOW) so worth watching the lot. For the increases weight, there will be a new Category G, with different requirements.
  4. Thanks Thomas. My aircraft is a 19 registered, and I am not doing anything without speaking to our local Lame
  5. Fantastic, safe travels back. Fortunately for me, mine is already at the airfield, so I have been able to go over it lots and test fly it more than you usually would be able to. Just have to wait 1 more week!!
  6. Agree. Check fuel level (actual) before each flight.
  7. On my list to do!!! After I spend some time with an instructor practising
  8. I have been told that too!! but I doubt it. Time will tell
  9. Yes read all about this before I made a decision to go ahead, and this it is the XL not the HDS. I have also had a level 2 / 3 / 4 go over it and inspect the entire construction and says it is extremely well built with high quality standard.
  10. One day I will do that trip from or to Bundaberg. The aircraft is already at Gawler, you will see it out soon enough!
  11. Well I am most likely crazy, but come in just over a week I will be owning my very first aircraft!! Very exciting time. It is a Zodiac 601 HDS. Can say enough good words for my supportive wife (AKA her permissions) I am sure people on here understand my excitement!!! So watch out for one flying around SA soon!!. And hopefully visiting some other states at some stage.
  12. Awersome Rick, thanks for that. Totally understand!!! and makes sense. Thanks for this.
  13. Cheers, from what I have read, you can have the return line going either back to the fuel tank or back near where the line comes out of the tank (Correct me if I am wrong). If you do the second way though, you need to have it on the correct side of the electric fuel pump.
  14. It is for a 912 UL 80HP I found the below diagram. So in the below diagram, where would the return line sit between and the sensor? I am guessing the sensor is somewhere before the the elec fuel pump and the return line comes in inbetween the fuel pump and sensor?
  15. I am still reading and learning about this all. I was reading if there is a return fuel line, you should have a sensor on it to gain more accurate readings.
  16. Reminds me of when I first started. We all bounce it!!! Great that you had a calm instructor, mine was like that too, not sure how come they can be that calm. If you move on to a J-230, you will learn about the right rudder more on takeoff.
  17. Let me clarify, $325 each sensor and then the instrument for around $300, so $900 ish all up. Looking for cheaper options!!!
  18. Hi All, I have just purchased a recreation aircraft, and I was thinking about putting a fuel flow instrument in, that was until I saw how much the fuel flow sensors cost!!!. Is there any recommendations / thoughts around this, and if anyone knows where to get them a lot cheaper than $325!! (I need to get 2 sensors) I was thinking about the MGL Infinity one Infinity
  19. I heard someone at Gawler has or maybe had one.
  20. Hi All, I have replied to a few forums on the AvMap EFIS and it seems to have had positive feedback. Just wondering if anyone use used the AvMap Engibox? If so, experiences, ect. If anyone knows of a place that is doing a good deal, please let me know. Best I can find is for around $2500.
  21. I like the look of the kanardia Horis. How hard was it to get in AUS? Installation?
