  1. Looking at those rivnuts, they are not the counter sunk one like ICP supply, more like the ones that came in my kit with my pliers. They will hold the cover away from the wing skin so you will need to turn the edge of the cover down so it meets the wing skin, won't take much, just crease it.
  2. Then print it quarterly and the cost increase would be just $10 per year per subscriber and production and distribution cost should reduce to a quarter what it is at the moment. And the rest of us who don't subscribe still won't read it. Everyone should be happier then.
  3. Mark did you get a good look at the ADV Savannah wing on the one at Monto before the last one, I think it was when Tom put Pinkie on public display. I think there is also a CH701 with something similar that we bumped into at Inglewood.
  4. You need a good accountant 170 is only ten times 17!
  5. Get a new accountant, yours must be giving crook advise.
  6. That is the only possible advantage unless they are also cheaper for ICP to produce. They don't give a better finish if that is what they were trying for. They may look better in Europe where weight really matters and wing tips are one of the few parts that get painted. The original wing tips would be no fun at all to polish.
  7. No! Rivnut the other three sides with 3mm rivnuts and then even if you need to completely remove a tank at a later date you can just flex the cover skin away and tie it out of the way while you service the tanks and lines.
  8. Don't use rivnuts on the front edge of the tank cover that is riveted into the main wing spar with A5 rivets. If you drill them out to take rivnuts you will compromise the wing spar strength.
  9. The Rotax float problem has absolutely nothing to do with owner installation or owner maintenance. they simply supplied parts that were not fit for purpose, pure and simple.
  10. When Toyota became aware that the passenger airbag in our 2003 corolla was faulty they recalled it. Parts are yet to become available for them to repair it free for the third owner but that is what they plan to do.
  11. This is what came straight to mind when I learned that my brand new still in the box Rotax engine must have it's carb floats replaced with ones that float in petrol before it is put into service. There is general fit for purpose legislation in Australian consumers law and there is no way that floats that absorb fuel are fit for purpose in a float bowl.
  12. Mine usually departs as I go over the grid at the mailbox and turn onto the main road. I just have one thing to add, Check Chains!
  13. Trailer looks more like it attaches to a ute rather than a prime mover. It's ball hitch would have been just fine until he hit a bump. It is easy to leave the hitch unlocked if you leave the locking lever resting above it's tab.
  14. And a nice paint job!
  15. Don't bag ICP too hard. There are a lot more fairly standard VGs around and some fairly bloated XLs and S models, more toys more weight, simple. I am as guilty as any, but a 914 and an airmaster prop with a couple of auto pilot servos and a tyre upgrade, radio and transponder, AH and card compass, PLB, GPS , iPad, backup iPad, External GPS receiver. And so it tends to go on. Things have changed a lot over the last decade or so.
  16. Open your photos in Paint and use the Resize option. Try 50% and see how you go.
  17. So what were the long term health outcomes for members or the castrato choir? Might have made an interesting research.
  18. They will also need a couple of coats of spray putty with a sand between each coat to give any quality finish, They seem to have dispensed with gel-coat to save weight but you have to add something smooth to hang the paint on.
  19. That sounds like the easy way out! If you just stop breathing all your problems will go away and become someone else's problems, doesn't mean it is a good way to go.
  20. To be fair, I think he is really building it, not assembling a 701 kit.
  21. And don't worry about Marty, obviously building a 701 is not his only problem.
  22. It is tightest at the flange end of the bush, and don't be shy with the grease when you do your final assembly.
  23. Remember it is summer over there Geoff.
  24. When you are working out left and right of this assembly point, take note that the frame is probably upside down on the bench with the mountings pointing skyward.
  25. Bob if you do want to run the standard bushes you will note there is a burr in the hole of the bush where they have parted the bush off the stock, tidy that up with a needle file and see how it fits then.
