then there are a lot of us stupid people out there that believe the stupid green are proposing stupid ideas and the stupid politically correct govt and stupid greens loving opposition are stupidly listening to them and their stupid ideas. Seems a stupid statement in the above post. ....

Carol Richards and her Husband are very kind, hard working, genuine people with a great sense of community. The mammoth task of organising that Carol undertook was never acknowledged fully by RAA Aus. The flyins that she was involved in were the most successful ever staged by the Recreational flying community. An example where RAA Aus should hang its head in shame. -
Bit hard to find electron pumps in the bush but...just sayin

Yep, squeezed out because she was successful and those idiots in power had their nose put out of joint because their ego's weren't being stroked. The events she organised were very successful. The old story..".how to fail at aeroshows"...get a successful one organised by some who actually cares, take it off her and give it to a committee to appease their ego's.. Well done idiots... -

Raa Aus had it, stuffed it, tried again with another player, now its stuffed again. Maybe someone will learn eventually. Its not rocket science, its about RECREATIONAL flying, not big business, empire building or huge sums of money. Dont tgive me the "move with the times" garbage, look what happens when big business, empire building and ego's get involved. Disgusted by the whole deal. -
I dont know, never having owned a brolly prop. I did buy new pitch blocks from the states in sizes 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 degree but finished up using the recommended 16 degree ones from brolga. (that being said, I had to enlarge the bolt holes in the American ones but that was simply a matter of running the correct drill size through the holes. The supplied Australian pitch blocks were fine.

Deja Vue...Temora version 2. We had it, wanted bigger and better, a la big business...now we have a cluster.... and no airshow. Yep, thats good management and progress. Just sayin.. -
The first sentence of Roundsounds post is insulting and not very helpful to most pilots.. If a non aerobatic pilot enters a spin, and has had exposure to the spin recovery procedure then, given the correct altitude, recovery would surely be possible. Are you advocating no training so pilots wont have a clue if it happens, not a very happy attitude. I would have thought that the more knowledge and practical training a pilot has, the better that pilot will be if anything untoward happens.
-
I think the main value in spin training, and any training in recovery from unusual attitudes would be the confidence for the trainee in their abilities, and the knowledge that, if they ever got into strife in the air, they had the knowledge, and confidence to right the situation if at all possible. Hopefully that would never happen, but confidence in the aircraft and your abilities is a major advantage when flying in other than perfect conditions.

Unfortunately, although Bolly props are good, the price is a problem for the average working pilot. Does the "plastic props" refer to the original brolga props, the 3 blade I use has fibreglass blades, dont know where the "plastic" came from...???

RAA rego and membership fee rises 1 July 2017
robinsm replied to Downunder's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
can someone tell me where the old surplus went and why are we now running at a loss. Obviously progress is an expensive step. -
On the subject of both organisations, I hope the ELAAA gets up and running soon because the way RAA Aus is increasing fees etc it wont be long before it becomes cheaper to register everything GA experimental and save some dollars.

take off the air filter, get someone to slowly operate the throttle (with the engine NOT running) and see if they are opening at the same gap.

ONE MAGNIFICENT WOMAN - CAROLINE GRACE AND HER SPITFIRE.
robinsm replied to Phil Perry's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Not bad for a girl born in country Australia eh. born Goulburn, NSW 1952. From Greenwich park just outside Goulburn. -
Why would you want to coat the brolga...the resin does not wear, if you want it shiny, use a car polish designed for resin coats. Balance problems with clear coating.

Recreational Aviation Australia, Member Survey!
robinsm replied to farri's topic in Governing Bodies
done and sent. There may be 2 organisations but I dont think EAAA are operational yet are they? Where are their manuals for us to look at? Sorry Keith, at the moment RAA are the only organisation we can use and untill the other comes fully on line, we have to deal with it. Unfortunately, the manuals are in and not a great deal we can do about it, as we have no current point of comparison. -
A casa satisfaction survey would come under the heading of Oxymoron surely...
