    You should, must, have tank drains. Could you have an elbow hose barb with hose to the side of fuselage to have drain in convenient position? Providing the hose is level or down hill this will work well. It would be interesting to know how much unusable fuel is in the tank, ie position of the pickup. Should be something like 0.5 to 1 litre. Without a tank drain you can never get water out if it gets in the tank.

    Reached a max altitude of 6400 before turning back. Propeller not feathered. Great landing.

    Skippy, if rotax has developed this new oil to maintain the reliability of the higher power, higher stress 915, 916 engines then it must also have some advantages in the base 912 engines which we can agree are very reliable. Is it not worth a few bucks to get better protection of your engine?

    You can sell or buy an aircraft with numbers on the side without a condition report however the new owner cannot register with RAAus without getting a condition report. For newbies to flying a condition report may seem like getting a maintenance release for a VH aircraft, it is not the same thing.

    The boost pump will not help as it is down stream of the gascolator on a bushcat. The gascolator looks like an Andair? Brand. I did service one recently, the drain valve is quite small and could be partially blocked. With a low fuel level there will not be much head pressure at the gascolator. I assume the tank has a low point water drains?

    It depends how the fuel system is setup. On my Musketeer and RV both low wings with left or right tank selector and a boost pump before the gascolator only the Musketeer has free flow. The RV requires the boost pump to be operating to obtain a sample from the gascolator. My guess is the valves in the RV facet pump have enough spring pressure to stop the free flow.

    Who would want to be an L2 anymore? One can buy or sell a VH Cessna, or Experimental, regardless of condition, without a valid maintenance release in casa land. Why make it more onerous. I see more aircraft staying in the shed. RAAus registered aircraft have been in decline for some time now.

    That only makes sense from an engineering perspective due the wing fold. Having owned a low wing RV for 3 years, no you don't get sunburnt, no it is not hot, can have canopy open during taxi and climb is rapid into cool air. Inverting in an off field landing? Yes it is a concern, mitigated by having a reliable engine and plenty of fuel and oil.

    Have transported quite a few aircraft on a basic car trailer recently. 5P, previous preparation prevents poor performance.

    I don't think I have ever seen a video of an aircraft stalling and hitting the ground without at least a quarter of a turn of rotation. The rudder can pick up a wing however its purpose is to stop yaw. No yaw no spin. It is not that hard to fly correct airspeed at all times.

    You could get some corks and put say 500ml paint in sloshing it. Stand on end to drain excess paint.

    What we hear on the radio is two aircraft following each other. What we can see "on the screen" is a conflict from the moment the trailing aircraft turns inside the other. This amazing level of situational awareness is available to any pilot even in the most basic of aircraft for a mere $500 while the adsb rebate is available. SkyEcho2 + tablet or iPad = enhanced traffic awareness.

    Does Enroute navigation have the documents, ersa etc, that would be required for a ramp check?

    No, this is something nearly all active pilots will be talking about Boeing's existing EFB product, foreflight, is apple iOS only. Foreflight recently launched in Australia with all necessary approvals. What might this acquisition mean for existing Ozrunways android users? No further development or the base for global android foreflight EFB?

    The Joby crash in 2022 was caused by a single propeller blade failure which subsequently damaged other propellers.     Are you suggesting pilots of higher performance aircraft like your sonex should have a casa class 2 medical?

    Be aware that denting the pipe may cause a slight bend, good in that it will give more clearance, just be careful if this will this will impact the alignment into the cylinder head or muffler.

    I would go with the dent. Try squeezing your garden hose down to half diameter with your thumb, minimal flow reduction. I would form the dent in a press using 50-60mm bar stock on the same angle as the engine mount tube.
